  • The 27 model year Land Rover BEVs will be in the vicinity of 3 tonne (6600lb). It doesn't produce tailpipe emissions but moving 3t around for one person is an extravagant use of energy, never mind the vast amount used to make the thing.

Personal ownership of a big heavy vehicle seems completely unsustainable, especially given the problem is currently mostly confined to rich industrialised nations. How is this going to work when everyone wants a car?

  • Blow me

  • Her carbon footprint melted my heart fo' sho'

  • Coming in hot

  • The catch is no one has a car.

  • Woah. That was not transphobic. It was a call back to the great Fatima Whitbread. Perhaps you are too young to remember the unusually masculine Whitbread hurl a javelin further than 99% of men.

  • Who needs healthcare and public services when you have F-35 out the wazoo

  • Thanks. I hope you can one day interpret subtext and nuance.

  • I abhor sexism and racism and what I say next may sound like both of those things but what if women and POC are worse at math than Tall White Guys®?

Should we make it even harder for them to access STEM fields? My workplace is a total sausage fest and I desperately seek the touch of wamman.

  • He bought goods for a value that was greater than the value he imagined they would be worth. Isn't that precisely how one would accumulate billions in the first place, except in reverse?

  • queer.af, a Mastodon instance, has been killed by the Taliban

  • Booooo misleading title

  • There is no relationship between what you earn and your skill level. If there were, theoretical physics would be a top paying field. The reason is, this is capitalism and we are horrible negotiators. If you want to earn top money in a technical field, the best you can do is insert yourself in a revenue stream. Roles that are critical to revenue like a billing system or associated with a intrinsically valuable commodity e.g. petrochemical, are more lucrative than other similarly skilled professions.

  • I don't disagree but thinking of the disorder in purely negative terms is not helpful. It feels like there are some things we are better at. Listening to comedy podcasts I discover many comedians are ADHD and adjacent types e.g. autism. It wouldn't be a surprise to learn that many creative people are classified as 'disordered'. I think the key to managing this condition are

    • medication
    • good routines (sleep, work, diet, exercise)
    • self awareness and acceptance

If you take one or more of these away, life among neurotypical people becomes untenable. It's in comparison to neurotypical people that we can feel inadequate and anything we can do to address those issues will improve the situation for everyone.

  • If only the British were willing to share their culinary secrets and dental technology, many of the world's problems could be solved decisively.

  • ADHD be like

  • I firmly believe most of our problems come from thick cunts like this.

  • My favourite thing is to hear people talk about having 'great WiFi' as if that is an internet connection.

  • Plot twist, Google was mollesting Brand all along, now he has Stockholm syndrome which he alleviates by making videos about wacky shit.
