news@hexbear.net•Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian publishes letter to the people of the United States of AmericaEnglish
46·5 days agoI’m lucky enough to know many Iranian immigrants and they are all the kindest most respectful people I have ever had the fortune to meet.
The other thing they have in common is that they can never return to their homeland, because they will be arrested and then killed. They live in fear that one day another of their friends or relatives in Iran will simply vanish.
We in the west have troubles of our own and have never known the terror of living under the rule of a paranoid authoritarian regime.

1·15 days agoI think Fair phone with eos is the “least evil” option but you won’t be able to use most banking apps or contactless payment.
This is the answer. 1 square to 300ml water works well.
Also the blacka and gold box is best!

Edit to say you are basically just rewarding their behaviour.

United Kingdom@feddit.uk•UK agrees to let US use British bases to strike Iranian sites targeting Strait of HormuzEnglish
1·17 days agoIran launched drones at the UK bases on Cyprus and Riyadh long before any announcement that the UK would let the US use them.
I’m definitely opposed to the war with Iran but let’s put facts first; Iran through their proxies have been indiscriminately firing on ships in the gulf for nearly a decade and when the US and Israel attacked them they launched missiles and drones at pretty much every cluster of buildings near to the Gulf with no concern for what they might hit or any apparent strategy.
The fact is Iran are going to attack UK bases whether the UK is involved or not.

2·29 days agoThings you never knew existed: https://priceofastamp.co.uk/
It looks like stamp prices have increased slightly above inflation but when you consider how few letters are actually sent since a stamp was a few pence it kind of makes sense. You can send a letter from one end of the country to another for £1.65 and I don’t think that’s too bad!

No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•Is it possible to pay someone to create an excel sheet for me?
63·2 months agoThis is something that CoPilot or ChatGPT is actually good at. Depending how messy your data is you might need to several iterations to get what you want and you will need to cross check the results. If you can, use a pdf editor to delete all the information you don’t want. I use foxit for this. Foxit can also save a pdf as excel but if the tables are an image or are complex it will not format very well at all.
