In that case I have majorly misunderstood some things before. I think the phrase should be given a bit more thought, because it really sounds like it's about believing all accusations.
renaming a draft presentation file with his initials “AJG” in brackets as standing for “A Jumbo Genital”.
asked her when a project would be finished, she told the tribunal he burst out shouting with an “extremely angry voice”, saying “I need date, date, date”. Ms Gasparova interpreted this as having been asked “the exact date when I would finally agree on sexual contact with him”
To indicate what details he required her to fill in he used XX, YY and ???? in the message, written in red. The tribunal heard she interpreted the Xs as meaning kisses, the Ys as sexual contact of some kind and the question marks as when she would be “ready to engage in sexual acts”'.
This reads like satire. Did this really happen or is something important left out? Surely no one can understand things this wrong?
"The instance of the person who posted it" seems to be reasonable for comments, but not the thread.
I think it is not only reasonable, but better this way. The canonical server is the one the post originates from. Each server is responsible only for its own users and their content.
I don't see any difference between posts and comments either. Why is one ok and the other not?
well it wasn't for no reason, it was for stupid reason, which is different
Yeah, guess I ovesimplified a bit. For anyone not aware, it was one report of racism towards a delivery driver.
The accusation was completely false, and even if the guy actually were a racist pos, remotely disabling devices he paid for and owns is not a good road to go on.
This is what I fear the most with these platforms. They have these shitty automated moderation systems that can just decide to delete everything you have there on a whim. Already common on places like youtube and facebook, but it just keeps getting worse. Every site is pushing users into signing in with their google/microsoft/whatever accounts.
Remember the guy who lost access to his smart home when amazon banned him for no reason?
They knew I was committing crimes with my adblocker.
