  • I bought the green because I have too much to do right now and limited bandwidth.

So having something that I can just plug in rather than having to research what kind minipc to buy, such one would work best for home assistant, install it, debug it ...

  • I have a rule for my kids is that I never say no to fruits and I try to always have fruits in the fruit basket (as long as they eat the whole thing and leave a half eaten fruit somewhere in the house).

My two year old is really enjoying that and can eat two whole apples and some grapes in a row. Sure he will not eat anything at dinner after that but I can't be mad at him for eating fruits.

  • I was doing that but now I have 2 young kids and a house that needs renovation.

It's just impossible to do everything, there is tons of stuff I see everyday that needs to be done but I have to accept that it's not possible to do everything.

  • Which SpaceX contact was a disaster ?

There is a lot to criticize about SpaceX but overall for NASA they've been pretty good partners, especially composted to ask the contracts NASA has with traditional aerospace companies.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong but I see several contracts

    • The commercial crew development: NASA awarded two contract to SpaceX and Boeing for sending astronauts to the ISS (with Boeing receiving almost twice the amount for the same missions).
    • Result: the capsule Crew Dragon has been sending astronauts regularly and safely to the ISS. The only astronauts that used the Starliner capsule from Boeing had to use another capsule (sent by SpaceX) to return because it was too risky to use the Boeing one.
    • All the satellites and probed launched for NASA. NASA chose SpaceX for multiple missions, I don't think any of the missions failed because of SpaceX. It include Europa Clipper, a probe that was originally supposed to be sent on the SLS (the SLS program is a disaster).
    • The human landing system: even though there is delays SpaceX is progressing well in the development of the system. Blue origin got a contract as well but so far they only launch their rocket once and didn't managed to recover the first stage. I don't know about their moon lander, I don't think there is many info available about it. As a comparison SpaceX launched the Starship rocket, recovered the first stage AND reused it several times already. Although comparison between the two companies is hard since they have very different approaches.

  • It took me a week to assemble my mk4 last year, between work, cores and kids but I loved the process.

I loved the process as well. The instruction is very well made and it's an extremely satisfying process.

The printer is now getting close to 2500 hours of printing and still printing well.

  • Nettle and potato soup is delicious.

  • It's almost like it was pure green washing and they never had any intention of reducing greenhouse gases

  • I doubt think it's a DNA problem, the amount of roots depends on the amount of leaves.

So keeping the grass short keeps the roots sorry as well

  • Yes, the brand has been bought by SAIC Motor, a Chinese manufacturer.

They have been doing some nice stuff recently, I own a MG4 (EV), I know a few people who own one as well and I'm quite happy with the car

  • You can very much travel long distance with EV. With current batteries and charger you need a 15-20 min break every two hours which is what people should do anyway.

  • There is the new MG4 that has semi solid state batteries.

  • To give a bit of context :

    • the previous government (prime minister and the other ministers) drafted a budget proposal last summer that was widely unpopular among the population and most deputies in the national assembly.
    • the previous prime minister asked for a vote of confidence, lost the vote of confidence so the whole government resigned
    • Macron appoints a new prime minister, this new prime minister promises a new policy line that will break with the old government.
    • After 26 days, the new prime minister reveals the name of the new ministers that will form the new government. It's mostly the same names as before.
    • 15 hours later he resigned, so the new government is dissolved.
  • Wasn't there a story where scientists sprayed a whole tree with insecticide in the rainforest and they discovered tenths of new bug species?

  • You're CEO and VP of IT are idiots.

Of course you can have open source in an enterprise environment and have someone to blame. You hire a company to install the open source software and maintain it.

  • No, I tried for a while but I gave up.

I switched to Onshape and I'm very happy with the switch.

  • I guess For the same reason people collect stamps or Pringles can. Just because they think it's neat.
