  • I've got one of these, just in different size and color.

  • I personally don't believe emojis should exist in professional documents. I'm not a hiring manager, but if I saw an application with emojis, I would think it wasn't taken seriously, and would probably not even give it a full read.

When there is text with emojis, it makes it hard to read for me. My brain stops to interpret what's going on and it breaks my flow and concentration on the text.

This is my opinion entirely, and it looks like some others would accept emojis, but just know there are people like me out there, and others that are worse. I don't think that emojis will elevate your chances of success, but are more likely to hurt them if anything. It depends on your risk tolerance and necessity to get a new job

  • It sounds like your inferring a lot in this. Maybe she's just kind and has a flirtatious personality. If she's just being overly nice and you think she's coming on to you, just don't reciprocate and live your life until it comes to a head. None of the details you've provided are enough for anyone to know your situation well enough to know whether or not she's into you. It's very possible she likes your company, conversation, or just enjoys being around you. That's just normal behaviour for someone that enjoys someone else.

If she's makes physical advances or makes statements that are inappropriate, then you have something that you can respond to, politely, to defuse the situation and clear the air. Don't lead her on and be flirty yourself. It's possible you have an addictive personality that you're unaware is affecting her.

DO NOT TALK TO HER FRIENDS ABOUT THIS! That is easily one of the dumbest things you can do. How do you think that would play out? I wouldn't talk to a supervisor for a similar reason. If she starts crossing lines or getting damn close, then have a civil conversation with her.

Just live your life, and cross that bridge when it's an issue. It more sounds like you're annoyed by her. If you enjoy her company, then don't burn that bridge by doing something dumb.

  • I was a subscriber from DVD rentals up until they blocked password sharing and raised their prices for the umpteenth time. They're not Amazon bad, but they're dead to me. They will never see another penny from me.

  • Duh. This is the dude pulling some of Trump's strings.

  • Here it is normal. Most of us do recognize that it shouldn't be though.

  • It's still true in that the bill can go back and forth between the hospital and insurance and change.

I had a surgery about 5 years ago that started at about $45k, and every couple of days got the bill would change as things started getting picked up by insurance. Eventually it got down to just over $4k. I waited about a month and then still had to call insurance because my annual out of pocket was capped at $2k and they didn't take that into account. Eventually it ended right around $1500.

This was all through the MyChart app, so it more it less does live updating after the initial bill is sent, opposed to a paper bill. Now I always wait about a month to pay any medical bills just to be sure, because if you over pay, you have to fight to get it back from insurance.

  • That's the worst she can do on the stand, and she's already not liked by gop members of Congress. I'm not saying there will be consequences directly from this, but I don't think anything she says will benefit her position and may turn more conservatives against her. There were already more calls today for her firing. Again, not good enough, but pieces are moving. Bovino losing his position, ICE allegedly moving out of MN to at least some degree... Small steps in the right direction. This battle isn't a sprint.

  • I agree that Qatar was awful with the slave labour and is the worse of the two scenarios, but as a visitor, the likelihood that you'd be arrested for being an immigrant wasn't really a concern to my knowledge. Both are bad, but I think the US WC is more likely to directly effect foreign visitors.

  • That's unfortunate. Idk what I did but it's just worked for me for a long time now. I definitely feel in the minority with having success with an Nvidia GPU. I run 3 monitors, 1 vertical, one an ultra wide, and one on top. It remembers position, colors and refresh are on pont and other than needing to restart Steam from time to time, it's just worked for me. My next card will still not be Nvidia though.

  • Phishing scams are intentionally bad to weed out intelligent people. It's the Nigerian prince just with a twist.

  • There's already mounting calls from the GOP. Not enough, but being a twat in the hearing could sway more for impeachment numbers. There's also a month for her to lose more support before the trial even begins.

The videos are clear and it shouldn't even require her to testify in front of Congress, but I'll take a small victory, regardless of how small, because there aren't many these days.

  • I agree. But the original post I responded to has the tone that what's happening in Minnesota is just as bad as in Iran. Every life lost like you mentioned is bad, so 30k deaths is significantly worse than 2. It said Trump is trying to out do Iran. The two situations aren't the same other than they are political protests. One is mass slaughter, the other is two political murders. I'm not saying it won't get worse, but it's not the same.

  • You're right, but this is all least the bare minimum.

  • I've emailed my senator Chuck Grassley and he doesn't give a shit. I hope that people in dem represented areas are at least writing to put some pressure on their reps. It stacks up over time and all these cunts want to stay in power. Every email makes them feel less likely to lose the next election, and they may start doing something to try and garner more support, even if they don't want to.

  • Clearly your dog shit view is in the minority. But you're probably right. The rest of us can't comprehend common sense, it's not your senseless opinion.

When you go out every day and you think everyone else is wrong, chances are it's not everyone else.

  • I've had no performance degredation moving to Wayland after the aformentioned update. I read what you said. I've noticed no difference in performance, and anyone that's fretting about 120 fps vs 110 fps is just splitting hairs for the sake of be being pedantic. I concede that there are some features that don't exist that don't apply to me and the vast majority of users, but for most of us, Wayland is just as good if not better in some common aspects.

No need to be hostile my dude. Chill.

  • I get very good fps in every game I play on my 2080ti that's very much not new. I've had to download a fix for one game I have, and Sony doesn't allow multiplayer in Ghost of Tsushima, but every other game literally loads and runs better than they ever have. 100fps+ in most games, and maybe less than 60 in the most intense. Arch + kde + Wayland is easily the best computing experience I've ever had.

  • You might be right, but there truly is no real comparison between the two. As bad as shit is here, these are wildly different magnitudes of difference in the situations.
