  • Tattoo ideas? I got the communard symbol from disco Elysium on my forearm, and want something to go around it that continues the theme of semi-secretive commie stuff. Are there any patterns that are associated with socialist countries? Like how the hammer and sickle is? Maybe grain? That might be too subtle, though.

  • I’m more of a fan of the Dogma approach

  • All my friends who do 996 said they get an hour for breakfast, 2 hours for lunch and nap, and an hour for dinner, so they end up only working about 9 hours a day

  • Post hog

  • Ah you rock!! Thank you! I didn’t even think about how close it is to Oakland. Awesome suggestions

  • There’s a reason most places that legalized explicitly banned people with weed charges from operating stores. It was never about correcting the past, it was that it became too profitable for them not to allow rich white men to profit. Weed quality plummeted with legalization, as suddenly the only people who had it were those who only cared about profit. People will tell you, “oh Cali has the best, oh Colorado has the best.” No. It is worse everywhere I have been than it was in 2010 under the primarily cottage run medical industry. That’s why dabs are so big now. Good weed is a mirage, solid strain genetics are gone, and everything is sprayed with chemical pesticides.

  • Any communist historical things to check out in San Fran? I’m going for a vacation soon, would love to see some neat historical sites of union action, maybe an old CPUSA building, or whatever they have there. I think I’m gonna go to the propaganda museum, I think it’s run by a chud, but it looks to have some cool DPRK and Chinese posters in its collection, but other than that I know really nothing about San Fran other than its reactionary hippie association

  • I’m jelly. My wife takes GLP-1 for her diabetes and my insurance doesn’t cover it at all, so we have to pay $400/mo. I hope it works well for you!

  • Sunscreens are regulated pretty weirdly in the US, and so there’s not much room got companies to make changes in the formula for them. I think that’s why so many are so similar, including in smell I would imagine. Even if you’re buying Korean sunscreen, you’re buying their US approved formula, which is going to be very similar to other US brands with not a lot of room for variation. If you can get overseas, you can buy much better and more varied sunscreens. I have no clue about scent though, I have a bad sense of smell so I never really notice much.

  • Avoiding the doctor is pretty much the reality for most Americans. A simple checkup with insurance can still cost hundreds of dollars, as I’m sure you know

  • Tomato harvesting in Xinjiang is almost 100% automated… but that requires large amounts of investment and a plan that extends beyond next quarter, so not gonna happen.

  • I was listening to NPR in the car, and they had a pro Mamdani Democrat strategist on, and he was responding to an accusation that Mamdani’s policies are “college dorm politics”, and he said something like, “I don’t think they’re college dorm policies, when x% of people can’t afford to live, etc etc… it’s the material cond… material reality”. Dude almost said the thing. Made me laugh.

  • You can play guitar on Last of Us 2 with it. The DS4 seems to have better sensitivity than the 5. I could pick individual strings on it and it doesn’t seem to work as well on the ds5, but both are a neat use. Ghost of Tsushima has functions mapped to swiping the different cardinal directions. Not really anything else I know of

  • The mass of US special forces will cause a military coup as soon as their power is under threat. That’s part of the unspoken part about both parties unconditional support for the expansion of the military budget, they’re trying to insulate themselves from the inevitable coup conditions that they have created.

  • I feel that, for sure. I always make sure to shower right before leaving for the airport and wear loose fitting shoes to minimize sweat until I get on the plane. One time I even swapped socks mid flight just to be extra safe.

  • Yeah going across the oceans is when it’s really most important. It’s also important to get up and stretch and walk around every few hours too. My last flight home I got bumped to a different flight and got stuck in the middle seat for 14 hours, and so I didn’t really get up except to pee, and my feet hurt so bad afterwards, it was miserable. I usually just sleep 90% of the flight, wake up every few hours, wander around, brush my teeth, splash water on my face, do some light stretches in the aisle, and sit back down and go back to sleep. Get some funny looks, but it’s worth it to not feel like poo after.

  • 100%, engagement bait works on me far too often for my own comfort.

  • All the Asian airlines I’ve ridden give you slippers when you get on tje plane, because wearing your shoes on a long flight is bad for your blood flow and can exacerbate the swelling you’re already going to get from sitting for that long. Long story short, yes, and so should you.

  • Bro Asian airlines give everyone slippers and everyone takes their shoes off. Keeping your shoes on during long flights is not good for you, at all.
