  • Back around... 2020 or so we had a release of files that were basically 'There are some weird flying things and we have no clue what they were'. After that we had that some coverage a few years back confirming that all of that led to 'No definite evidence of aliens' but I feel like I remember just last year we had a congressional hearing with some guy who worked for the DoD saying Aliens did exist and we had captured some of those UAPs. However, then again... I do think said guy who was most vocal on those hearings had a book he was trying real hard to sell.

    Who wants to take the bet that Trump is going to take a financial interest in some guy selling books on this and prop him up as 'the' expert.

  • I said the best thing, didn't say comfort. If you're looking for comfort, you need to wish harder. All we got left here for justice is philosophy and bureaucracy and bureaucracy ain't helping us right now.

    The ultimate justice isn't any worldly punishment it's the knowledge that without something to establish true permanence, the impact of any action anyone could take is eventually negligible and everyone is punished the same. The punishment for your crimes is always being eventually forgotten and having the remnants of your life lost to time. For some that might take longer, but regardless of how it might make us feel, they'll all get there.

    Sometimes that can feel like a good thing and sometimes that can feel like a bad thing. Feel like it varies depending on your outlook on life at the moment.

  • A lot of people are assuming that Americans are regretting their vote... And some are.

    But, important to remember that a tremendous amount live in an entirely different media echo chamber and don't believe anything negative about Trump and have no regrets. Everything negative we've seen is positioned so it seems like a good thing for them and anything bad that happens is someone else's fault.

    Also, important to remember that a lot of us have ended up in an echo chamber of our own just with a different agenda. Trust no one.

  • The key is that you still dump it in that warehouse but then when that warehouse is full you do actually sell it to a shell company who isn't going to bother with oversight and they ignore it until it catches fire or is otherwise destroyed or somehow become someone else's burden, then they collect the insurance money... maybe with more shenanigans, but problem is solved.

    Companies do it with dangerous chemicals that are burdensome to dispose of all the time.

    So Israel is there because it seems to have been present as a kingdom, but where we might see Palestine now would either be part of Israel, Judah, or the 'Philistine States' on the southern end which gets confusing.

  • The biggest problem with leaf blowers is that blowing leaves is the least useful thing they can do. It is amazing for cleaning your house. Get the leaf blower out and just keep going until all the kitchen crumbs are out the back door.

  • Even advertising isn't necessarily bad, having people telling you about things you might like used to be a good thing.

    I personally think it's people like Edward Bernays who had the idea of, I guess, 'Malicious Advertising'. They really solidified the idea of applying propaganda techniques to advertising strategies and that just kind of become expected and the norm.
