The only "genetic modification" that I understand happening is the modification to our immune systems being able to fight diseases much better than before. Eventually getting rid of diseases entirely.

Nah, I imagine bank robbers as classy. These thugs look like the "gang members" they're so desperately scared of. They look like they're hiding weapons in their pockets to cause public terror.
