Currently the big divide between rural and urban is racial integration; in lots of cities white people have shrunk from a majority to a plurality, and there's much greater richess of diversity in cultural influences. Trump talks to Stephen Miller, and he wants to deport every immigrant. Trump sits with hotel and farm owners, he wants to bring in more immigrants on visas for cheap and expendable labor.
The real story here is who is pulling on Trump's strings right now and why do they want to pull out of their Portland invasion.
