This is one that’s been on my to-read list for many years now…

finished Dungeon Crawler Carl by Matt Dinniman last week.
I finished up the most recent DCC book a little while back (and they are great) but my god the paragraphs of game guide description stuff is too much…

I hacked my kids 2DS recently and now I just play it for fun :/
Seriously though, keep it alive as the the DS consoles are still awesome.

I feel like giving up on privacy because nothing seems to work. the only results I get is slower more broken internet
I haven’t read your whole post but noticed this bit. It doesn’t have to be all or nothing.

Racing simulator that launched in the early 2000s and is still going. There have been some rough times but overall the feeling of admiration is hard to deny for the 3 (mostly 2 now) devs. A couple years ago they updated it to create and allow mods and this year they released a public test for new graphical updates. I don’t even play often anymore but I still check for updates almost daily :)
You mentioned Squad and I think it definitely applies here. I don’t like competitive multiplayer games anymore but Squad just hits the sweet spot and especially when you find a good server with a nice mix or regulars and randoms. It’s also not quite milsm, which is a good thing.
Homeworld 3
HW3 is by far the worst in the series. On paper you would think Deserts of Khatak would be the worst but that one is fun and actually feels like a HW game but HW3 is just abysmal.

If it wasn’t GTA I doubt anyone would notice and/or care. It’s the equivalent of an exclusive interview or something.

Red Dead Redemption 2
This is probably the 5th time I’ve gone back to it after a long break. I was really tempted to restart from the beginning but decided to continue from where I am. It’s such a beautiful game and so far I’ve mostly spent my time hunting and fishing :D

Teach us your ways oh artful one

I don’t finish any many games but something like the Mass Effect **trilogy was, by the end, a bit of a chore but I just wanted to finish off the storyline.
Thomas Was Alone, I’ll be damned if I wasn’t getting those rectangles to freedom :D

Amazing. I’ve started to move away from lemmy.world now because of the loading errors so this is perfect.

This was a game earlier today with a great shot overlooking a chapel area in the middle of the map. All the detail is quite overwhelming at the start but its so good when you dig in to it.

Call to Arms - Gates of Hell: Ostfront
I’ve been playing a lot of skirmish matchups with the ai recently. Its a good looking game too so makes great screenshots.
Pikmin
I only have the Emperor Bulblax left to do. I initially started the Nintendo Switch version but changed over to GameCube emulation on the PC so I can test out RetroAchievements. Its been fun and I’ll probably move on to Pikmin 2 soon.
Fable 2
My play through has stalled for a couple weeks now…

I’ll add to this with another podcast that covers all games. The Wipeout series one from a few months back was great.

It’s sad to see so I’m going to keep a close eye on what GOG do from here.

If you can get a One X for $120 I’d consider that a great deal. I don’t think Xbox’s are particulary great for 4k blurays but if you are playing games too then its good enough.

I bought this too. The demo was great and Iooking forward to playing it next.
Empires is a throwback… brings back memories of stuff like NeoTokyo, Zombie Panic and even Forgotten Hope 2 :)
