Imo it's important to continuously compare traditional and modern cultures.
Why? Unless somebody is trying to hold them up as a standard to aspire to cough MAGA cough, what do we gain from looking down and sneering at the horrible moral standards of the past?
I can see the relevance if we were having a discussion about said morals, in which case bringing up the past as an example has some point to it. But not when we're just looking at a random historical artwork.
Garry leaving some direct, unsanitized interface to Steam itself directly exposed via lua... which caused Steam/Valve themselves to step in and rewrite a part of all of Steam, because Garry is s fucking moron, and more or less allowed a virus/malware to propogate through Steam itself, independent of Garry's Mod...
That sounds entirely on Steam. The game is the client in this context, and Steam as the server shouldn't be trusting anything from the client.
And yet, with Proton they're one of the biggest contributors to Linux adoption in the past several years. They're allowing millions of users to cut the last string that was binding them to Windows
Given that they'd have locked in the supply at least half a year ago, though, it would be funny (though unrealistic) to find out they contributed to the price hike 😂
It's mostly another NIMBY neighborhood getting their knickers in a twist because the facility will be used for nuclear research. That's the main point they're taking exception to.
They're still a horrible company in many ways. Forcing them to be better in this one aspect doesn't change the fact they're shitty
