  • Hyper Light Drifter's soundtrack is truly a masterpiece. Same guy did FEZ too; another excellent soundtrack.

  • Drummers covering other drummers is a very popular scene on Youtube. Check out Alex Rudinger to start and just go down the rabbit hole.

  • First it was Call of Duty in the mid 2000's. Then it was WoW. It all culminated in EVE Online. Untold hours spent in those games.

I have zero game addictions now. It just doesn't hit like it used to.

I'm more into stuff like Dwarf Fortress, Cogmind, and Caves of Qud now.

  • Musician here. I'll play almost anything with strings and drums. Youtube: @rx120d, @BlackRiverStudio astralpath.bandcamp.com

  • I love how on the internet all it takes for someone to call someone a shit parent is a mild difference of opinion.

It's just 0 -> 100 at the drop of a hat. Its fucking hilarious to me.

  • Linux is in no shape for a non tech literate person just to jump into.

The tech illiterate are not typically the ones complaining about Microsoft; they mostly have zero clue about what's going on. Stop choosing perfection as the threshold for usability.

  • I saw last year's North American eclipse in the path of totality. I know what you mean. It is very strange.

  • I'd chalk that up to the assumption that a cloud has partially or fully obscured the sun. If clouds weren't a thing, we'd be much more sensitive to light changes as they wouldn't be a part of our outdoor experience.

I'm not checking to see if the sun is still there every time the ambient light outside dims, y'know what I mean?

  • Same for me with Nobara Linux. Its been a year and a half and I'm so glad I migrated over.

  • Would you be ready to mold the relationship on the spot, which you have seen as a platonic friendship from the get-go?

I'm not a relationship expert so I can only give a response based on my own subjective feelings and opinions.

I'd say that you'd probably be able to tell pretty easily if a friend would be a suitable partner if you've spent a decent amount of time around them. It might be a bit of an uncomfortable conversation to turn them down, but good friends should have healthy communication and a discussion about why the interest isn't mutual would probably go over well. If you just say no and provide no context as to why, that would likely end badly.

would you be able to say that they were always was your crush?

I did exactly this with my wife. We initially became friends because she was one of my roommate's girlfriend like 15 years ago. We had a strictly platonic relationship for about 10 years, but I was crushin hard after 5.

Turns out that so was she.

  • Ok, obviously people being attracted to you is a huge plus but there are plenty of average and even below average dudes out there with amazing women. Why?

Because they're typically genuinely nice, caring dudes that don't treat women like some mountain to be summited.

You want to know how to have enjoyable relationships with women? Maybe try actually being friends with a woman; no ulterior motives. Just find a friend and nurture that friendship. It's incredibly easy to be around women when you don't tack a bunch of sexual bullshit onto every situation involving them.

Inevitably, you'll either find a suitable partner organically or you'll be introduced to someone that meshes well with you.

Women make up 50% of the population. If you can't have a normal interaction or a friendship with them, that's a problem that requires you to look inward to resolve.

  • Shove a cold beer into hot sand. Great idea.

  • You could pump the brakes a bit, though. You're coming in way too hot on this one.

  • Keywords, friend. Keywords.

  • Not in my experience. If you don't want to see politics there is a robust blocking system on Connect (and other apps I'm sure) that you can use.

  • It seems like you don't know the definition of the word truth or you've been taught an inaccurate version of it. They way you write makes me think that you read a lot online and I've noticed in the last five or so years that there seems to be a push by some people (typically with ulterior motives from what I've seen) to dilute the definition of truth to accomodate the propagation of their worldview.

The truth of the conversation is that the guy was wrong. Calamari is not caviar = True.

This idea of adapting the word "true" to conveniently dodge outright wrongness on a topic is a problem. You're using the wrong word if you're saying things like "my truth" or "your truth". It would be more accurate to say "my/your understanding".

As I mentioned before, the truth is something that exists outside of you. You refer to facts to describe the truth to the best of your ability. No one expects anyone to have a complete understanding about everything. Incomplete knowledge is just fine so long as you accept when others fill in the gaps or correct you.

Its OK to be wrong. If people accept their own fallibility, they grow with every conversation they have.
