I don’t think it should be controversial to say that you vote for Nazis and you are a Nazi.
So then our policy can simply be, “Nazis sleep alone.”

In all seriousness, you can phone bank.
I’m on iOS, but I gave it a few minutes of swiping to help out.
I don’t really understand what this means. Can you explain the implications?
Moon Reader+ is probably the only thing I still miss from Android.
It requires no restraint if you’re not a monster.
Can and absolutely do. Pet is my standard security question and it’s just a standardized password I use only on that field.
I wonder how bad their financials are if the CEO is publicly speaking out about this problem.
Chipotle used to be my favorite restaurant, but the last time I ate there was probably 2019. It just stopped being worth the effort of trying to get a full bowl.
I suspect just the air near the bat, as we both did it on our first try. Bats are small and fast, so the odds of us hitting the bat on the first try is low.
To be fair, in both instances, the bat had gotten into a building and couldn’t be shooed back out, so intervention is pretty important to saving its life.
Once it’s on the ground, you pretty much have it, as they can’t take off from the ground. Mine scampered under a bed very quickly and we had to move the bed to scoop it up and carry it outside.
In both instances, the bat was perfectly fine and flew off safely once outside.
As a former 3a owner this project is entirely awesome to me. Really cool stuff and really well done.
Anecdotaly, if ever a bat gets into your home and is flying around unable to escape, the easiest way to relocate it safely is to slap it out of the air with a bath towel whip.
In college, my best friend did this to a bat on his first try and it became the stuff of legend. Years later, stay at a hostel with some friends, a bat got into our room and I remembered the towel trick. First try! It was surprisingly intuitive.
I carried the bat (after getting gloves) outside where it lept from my hands and flew to safety.
The more you know!
I can’t speak for anyone else, but I’m okay with news that sad so long as it’s not all the news we get. Life can be sad and nature can be harsh, that’s just the reality of loving wild things.
There’s always a chance, it’s just very small. These corrupt justices are the end game for the republican party, the odds of any of them breaking ranks to convict is very low.
That said, it’s almost certainly not about conviction, so much as upholding the rule of law and creating political pressure and support for something like packing the court.
I really like this one.
Yeah, I got tired of being the product. It used to be Google phones were significantly cheaper, that’s just not nearly as much a thing anymore.
Then you have to take the additional steps of finding privacy focused roms etc… It just wasn’t worth the savings to me. There’s things about Android I miss, but the fact that my phone is good for years and years is such a game changer.
I have been gradually transitioning over to proton for additional privacy and I’ve basically completely divorced myself from Google at this point.
Any good tutorial videos you’d recommend?
That’s neuroplasticity, which is true.
Okay, source it if you’ve got it, because the idea that a single study ran out of funding at 25 and that’s where the number comes from is such an odd suggestion, as though no one else has studied the brain’s development and neuroscientists everywhere just shrugged and thought, “if only the funding were there.”
Here’s a well-sourced article that concludes the brain continues to develop well into the mid-20’s.
While the brain will always continue to develop and grow, due to neuroplasticity, the concern is whether or not the prefrontal cortex, the part of the brain responsible for long-term decision making, is properly developed. This development continues into the mid-20’s and is well-documented.
Here’s a 2022 study where they looked at over 100,000 brain scans from people 110 days old to over 100 years old used to draw and affirm similar conclusions.
While 25 isn’t magic number, as everyone’s brains develop on different timelines, it is a rational and reasonable landmark that can be reliably used for broad discussions.
Here’s more from the National Institute of Mental Health and Penn Medicine.
I’ll disagree about age. At 23, the pre-frontal cortex is still developing and won’t be finished until around 25.
It’s responsible for:
There is a distinct imbalance between someone in their 60’s and someone in their early 20’s. I’m not saying it can’t be carefully and respectfully navigated, but it has to be acknowledged and accounted for.
It doesn’t sound like that happened here.
Then we have the power dynamic of a celebrity who is also your employer. Add in a healthy dose of fictive kinship due to the live-in nature of a nanny and you’re in a situation rife with the potential for abuse.
Spicy take around these parts.
