If you play on a machine that is not connected to internet, then by all means there is no reason to switch. But of you are connected to the internet, then those system pose security risks and you would be better off having an up to date system. If Win 10 wasn't EOL then maybe the advice to upgrade to Win10 would be solid.

Si tu veux pousser plus loin tu peux meme mettre plusieurs partitions en LUKS et demander l'ouverture du / par mot de passe et une fois celle la debloquee, la decryption du reste automatiquement grace au TPM avec systemd.
C'est pas si compliqué et au final ça évite d'avoir un systeme entierement auto débloqué au boot via TPM tout en gardant toutes tes partition chiffrees.
Yes, those were never updated. This was the workaround : uninstall everything using DDU, then install the outdated drivers. That worked at first, then did not work anymore after a while.
