  • That seems pretty accurate. I'm an American who would claim that they care more than the typical person and even I'm so fucking sick of it all. I'm completely resigned to the fact that AI is going to make all of our issues 100000x worse along with the media consolidation into the hands of right wing billionaires... Our so called justice system failed every check imagineable and is now in the hands of Trump cultists and our judiciary has been stacked with a rubber stamp majority for the next 30+ years. I have absolutely no faith for the future...

  • This is why I don't really understand the argument some people here make about Russia just trying to eliminate Nazis in Ukraine. What country would not only go to war and lose one million of their own people, but keep fighting that war, when they weren't under direct threat and weren't attacked?

    I don't think one single large nation has ever gone to war for purely humanitarian reasons. Even the Nazis in WWII provoked an attack. Everyone was all cool with appeasing Hitler until they went and attacked people.

  • I generally had no interest in that category so I never really watched anything from it, but one day recently I figured wth I'll put on something new that I don't particularly care about to have in the background while I'm working on something else and I've ended up really enjoying the "reincarnated as a slime" series so far lol I think it kinda fits the show well that this slime has knowledge it otherwise wouldn't have since it's kind of "human." I guess it could still work as "I'm an intelligent slime."

  • Honestly having the time to take those courses was why I even left my last job to take this factory job, but then COVID happened and everything got put on hold and the "omg recession" cycle started.

    Unfortunately no, the shitty factory job gives nothing but some pie before thanksgiving. At least they give something I guess lol

    This is the vibe I always got with like 99% of women's profiles on dating sites, at least in my area, and one of the top reasons I knew I was doomed to be single for the rest of my life.

    I'm VERY "vanilla," very boring. I'm a homebody, I hate the go go go go lifestyle. Always going out, always booking the next travel trip, etc... I do what I like so it's not like I'm lamenting my "failures" and refusing to change to be better, I don't want that life, but it does really suck to see the vast majority of people around me do want that life... So I resigned to the idea that it's just not going to happen and quit the dating sites, they're too depressing anyway and were seriously messing with my head.

  • I'm 39 and feel like it's definitely too late for me. I'd be 42+ by the time I'm done and with the way the economy is and the job market in general I don't think there would be any positive for me to go through that expense.

    I basically just missed the boat, all my friends went to school for computer science when they were ~20 so they're safe now and make an absolute killing. If I were to try that now I'd just join the like millions that can't find work in that field... For the last 5 years every single day the news has been "omg a recession is coming, it's coming, it's definitely coming like tomorrow! Be afraid, it's coming!" So I never left my shitty factory job, but now I just feel stuck...
