Trying my hardest to be civil in this uncivilised world.

  • It's been done, Reddit is just Dem./alternative Truth Social now, if not fully in function definitely in spirit/attitudes.

  • This is just the result of a power vacuum/imbalance left by the declining American empire. And there are many more players (the rich af Gulf countries, mainly SA and the UAE, India, Turkey) and some of them are not even nations like banking institutions, technocrats and capitalist oligarchs, and asset management firms, for example.

If I may, I think the reality of things is more like this: the world has realized that the American empire and its vassals can no longer unilaterally make the rules and force every other nation to do their bidding or face the consequences, things have changed both in the US (it's no longer the MIC and banks deciding the direction of the country but now there are multiple conflicting groups of interest; corruption has done its thing and every part of the American empire suffers from theft at every level, the military included) and in the world as a whole and the balance of power has shifted. So, since we're firmly in a post-American hegemony era, all that has to be decided is how this transition will be managed and what America's new role will be in this new world. Before, the whole world belonged de facto to the West, which means ultimately America, now different nodes of power have arisen and power will be distributed between them.

  • I don't think anything will happen that isn't just a controlled transition from American to Chinese control after some diplomatic deliberations, and in a decade or so not right now. Maybe.

  • Sorry, hope someone comes up with better advice. And I do the same thing! Can't just let that poor living being suffer the consequences of my poor executive function. 🥲

  • LoL gets boys riled up like any other team game but without the potential for physical confrontation present IRL people just run their mouths. 🤷

  • Maybe try to divide "cleaning" into smaller, seemingly more doable tasks? And get to them throughout the week? "Today I'm doing all the dishes and organising the cupboards, tomorrow I'm cleaning the bathroom, I'll take the bin bags out the following day...". Maybe give yourself a little treat after cleaning?

  • Are you married too, OP?

  • My guess? Probably because you know you should've forced yourself to be a bit more humane, it wouldn't have killed you.

  • 🙄😔

  • Man, every time someone acts shockingly immorally I just get sad, and if I'm mad that's a secondary feeling. None of it is addictive. I'm addicted to people doing the right thing when it's difficult. 🤷

  • The lady probably feels the same way, she just knows better than to be honest about it because she's better socialised.

  • As silly as bonding over race, especially when we disagree on basic morality, but that's sadly what happens. 😔

  • Believing in God and yapping/arguing are big parts of my life. 🤷😅

  • Same, but I'm not gigantic and I also love to "argue" IRL. It's easier IRL too (as a non gigantic guy, ofc 😅), because people can feel your good vibes and friendly disposition and will more comfortably engage even through disagreements.

  • That's not how the world works, though, we can't just snap our fingers and make everyone think thoroughly and empathetically before they say something. One will or won't learn to better handle words, and that's entirely for one's wellbeing, so I think it's better to try to do so (and hope you don't have to deal with too many bullies, regardless).

  • It's a thought process worth exploring, and one necessary for self-actualisation and prosocial living. It can't be examined in an ideological vacuum though: what are your values and how and when have you gone against them? What's the intensity and periodicity? Are you truly that far away from righteousness (and panicking a little bit in this case is warranted) or are you an overall "decent" person that needs to uhh round out their corners?

  • 🙄😞

  • Disregard them as you would any silly person. 🤷

  • Eh, more or less skilled, sure, but "unskilled" is never accurate. I say this as someone who's very clumsy by nature and takes forever to do manual tasks that others won't struggle as much with. I know that there's a lower floor of skill (the floor I inhabit 😭), so they can't just be doing "unskilled" tasks.
