I would imagine most people’s opinions on their own opinions are that they are correct

Good lord dude, it’s a silly meme about how Jesus came back from the dead, kinda like zombies. Doesn’t really seem to be shitting on or offensive to Christianity to me. Especially considering I’ve known devout Christians who jokingly have made the same comparison before

Lemmy.world Support@lemmy.world•I think my sister asked this. But why can't we have a pirate community? Like not teaching how to pirate but just articles on streaming is raising prices, stuff from torrentfreak.com and other things?
4·1 day agoBeing somewhat new to Lemmy, what are some good instances to use besides? I’m still learning about them, but I’ve heard not so good things about .ml?

Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•Stuck between living in America, China, or Japan... Which would you choose?
1·4 days agoYour analysis is ridiculous, incorrect and dangerous to OP. ICE are still active and still abducting people. They kidnapped a woman in front of her children after she passed the security checkpoint in the airport just hours after being placed there the first time. Plus, like I said before, a lawyer and paperwork MIGHT get you back out of the detention center after a few weeks, IF they decide to let you out and not just say they lost you, or ignore the order anyway. Everything in between those two times is totally up to the agents in how they want to treat you. You’re an idiot and have no place offering advice to anyone considering moving to this country

Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•Stuck between living in America, China, or Japan... Which would you choose?
2·5 days agoOkay, so I don’t understand the point of this response, still. It’s obvious that OP is deciding on a country to move to, considering that was the entire premise of this thread. You said paperwork will protect OP from ICE, misleading OP. I corrected that. My response was also with OP in mind, considering he is not as experienced with American life as an American is. Your appreciation of my contributions does not matter. What point are you trying to make right now?

1·5 days agoSure it’s a slippery slope, but it’s also exactly how corporations and governments have been behaving and there’s hundreds of examples of it. You’re being intentionally dense if you don’t believe that.

Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•Stuck between living in America, China, or Japan... Which would you choose?
2·6 days agoOkay, and? I’m talking about the USA, specifically. The person above me implied keeping your paperwork in order will protect you from ICE, and I said that was false. I was not talking about China, nor Japan
I… But… Teeth??

Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•Stuck between living in America, China, or Japan... Which would you choose?
2·6 days agoUnfortunately, having paperwork in order does not protect you from ICE. They do not care about the law and will abduct you as you are walking into/out of any immigration hearings. They routinely ignore judge’s orders to release people and have no accountability for any harm or damage they cause. Sure, you might get yourself out in a week or two IF you have a good lawyer, but not before they do whatever they want to you in the meantime

71·6 days agoWhat is your purpose here? All you’ve done is argue with people who warn you to not come to the USA. You’ve been told several times that it is not only dangerous to foreigners, but also to actual natural born citizens, the schools are currently fighting against an anti-intellectualism take over, banning subjects and books that don’t align with Christian beliefs and arresting students that say killing people is wrong. ICE is patrolling airports (where you would come into the country) and arresting anyone who is just a little too dark or just that they feel like arresting. It is not only unsafe for you to come here, it is a bad idea to come here for the academia as well.
All of this you have been ignoring and downplaying and arguing with. If you’re so sure it’s a good idea, then sure, come to the States and pray you don’t get blackbagged and never seen again. It feels like you’re not here to get honest opinions, but just to argue and ignore anything you don’t like
Yeah, the ground is dirty. I prefer table beef

Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•Stuck between living in America, China, or Japan... Which would you choose?
4·7 days agoWhile I agree moving to the US right now is extremely stupid and dangerous, ESPECIALLY while ICE is bored and prowling our airports and OP seems to be absolutely unaware of the world around them to a dangerous degree, I have to ask:
Are you THE Poem_for_your_sprog and why aren’t your posts in wonderful, whimsical poem form???

3·7 days agoWell, in that case, being there are no stupid questions, it would circle back around to be relevant to this community then, no?

2·7 days agoMight not be a bad idea to specify which RPG, as there might be already a mechanical answer, or, if not, an answer probably more in line with the general vibe of the RPG you’re playing, rather than just answers relating to the wildly diverse lore/mythology of faelike creatures in general

3·7 days agoWow. I don’t think I could find a stupider take if I tried. You’re almost right, but totally lost it. It would certainly eliminate at least half of the insanely wealthy population
To be more specific, American farmers vote against handouts and vote for things that ruin the economy, then beg for handouts, then go bust and blame leftists for it

It is still used to refer to things like fire retardant. To retard (pronounced ruh-tard and not ree-tard) means to slow or restrict the progress of something such as spoilage or fire spreading and is still a word with ligitimate uses, with the outdated ‘medical’ usage being a reference to a mentally disabled person’s slower mental progress.
