because green and orange don't mix. They're too far apart on the spectrum and would just make brown. Which is only further evidence that "yellow-green," an actual color on the wheel, isn't orange.

Of course you're not blurring the lines! You're not inserting a bunch of extra shades and colours into the discussion to blur lines, you're doing it for some different, other reason! Which is also why you're this tilted by being told you are what you are. Because you're not that, you're something else!
Look, if you really can't cope with not having the moral high ground of being green, maybe instead of bitching about it you can ditch the orange and get with the program.
