  • Hard to say. I'm bi and I had an undercover boyfriend when I was 12 or 13. Although neither of us really called it that it, it's pretty clear that's what it was in restrospect. Then growing up in the environment that I did, I stayed closeted until I was in my 30s and married.

Somehow even though I didn't admit it to myself for most of that time, it still didn't keep me from enjoying guys in porn, so IDK what kind of cognitive dissonance I had going there.

  • It has its ups and downs, but on the whole it's well worth the time to watch.

One of my favorite little side projects of the series (as British comedies seem to do fairly often) is an episode of the cooking show "Can't Cook, Won't Cook", which they did entirely in-character. It's appropriately titled "Can't Smeg, Won't Smeg."

  • Almost nothing is entirely original, and multiple devs having the same concurrent idea for a weird niche game is how genres are born.

  • I think a lot of amateur writers feel more comfortable with a prompt or an established theme for the community to get started with. It's part of why WritingPrompts, HFY, and HumansAreSpaceOrcs were pretty popular on reddit. After that, I imagine it's just like any online community, a matter of promoting it to people and getting splintered tiny communities to band together in one place.

It looks like your community is pretty general theme-wise, have you considered maybe a "theme of the week" post, or a sticky where people can dump prompts for someone to pick up and run with?

  • I'm no scientician, but wouldn't mutation mean that the possible number of gene combinations is constantly growing? And maybe even making previously non-viable permutations viable, which seems like it would really fuck with the math?

  • Huniepop is a porn game with the barest of stories between the titties, juvenile humor, and honestly the porn itself is just so-so. This is all wrapped around what is admittedly a pretty good match 3 puzzle game, but the soundtrack! For chill atmospheric music, that shit is fucking incredible.

  • Making Fonzie an early IT guy.

  • Ooh, Wildermyth looks pretty tempting too...

  • I haven't bought anything yet, but I've been compiling a short list of mostly DRPG games like the old Might and Magics that I've been playing, specifically ones that'll work on the Deck nicely. It's a genre I loved when I was younger that's been rather missing from my modern collection.

    • Wizardry: Proving Grounds of the Mad Overlord

    and/or

    • Wizardry: Labyrinth of Lost Souls
    • Legends of Amberland II
    • Operencia: The Stolen Sun
    • Songs of Conquest (not a DRPG, but a great-looking spiritual successor to Heroes of Might and Magic 3.)

And then on GoG, I might pick up a few real old ones, like Lands of Lore and/or Wizards & Warriors, but I don't think those will be good for steam deck even through Heroic.

  • At least it's not cantaloupe. Fuckin gross musky bitch-melon, that is.

  • I can hear Smash Mouth's Come On, Come On.

  • When when you play enough bard, you realize you can be a paladin of a fertility goddess and it comes full circle.

  • Good god, the amount of both dairy and booze Santa is consuming in one night is a terrifying combo. The fumes on Boxing Day must be enough to knock out one of the reindeer at 50 paces.

  • "...and that's the justification for why I'm gonna go grief-bang your Aunt Robin now that Mom's dead."

  • Maximo

Fuuuuck, I haven't thought about Maximo in years. That, Dark Cloud, and MediEvil are probably highest on my "It's been 20 years, where the hell is my third game?" list.

  • Nethack maybe? It's been updated over the years, but it's still largely the game that released in '87.

I'm also playing Might and Magic 6 [98] right now, and remembering why I liked 7 so much more. Planning a playthrough of World of Xeen [93/94] soon too.

  • Romantically? I don't suppose that there's much choice to falling in love. But continuing to love someone once the honeymoon glow wears off, and it's not always as happy and easy? I think that is, to some degree, a choice you make.
