  • You might also like Auditory Anthology then. Their original stories are sometimes a little hit or miss for me, but one neat thing they do is they rebroadcast old episodes of a 50s radio show called X Minus One between their own stories. Often ones that they used as inspiration for a modern rewrite in an earlier episode.

  • Perhaps we can break this stalemate with some fine snake meat instead?

  • I tend to go for story-telling podcasts, and within those I gravitate towards Twilight Zone/Outer Limits/Black Mirror style weird anthologies.

Right now I’m finding a lot of great stuff in:

    • The Other Stories (all kinds of stuff, they have a different theme every month or so)
    • The Wrong Station (similar, but less likely to stick to a theme for a while)
    • Gray Matter (lots of modern adaptations of older horror/sci-fi, like Lovecraft)
    • The Antiquarium of Sinister Happenings (higher ratio of dumb stuff, but still some gems)
    • The Program (Black Mirror-esque)
    • The Truth (various radio plays. Many aren’t sci-fi, but still weird in some way. Kind of reminds me of the bits of Inside No. 9 I’ve seen.)
  • I was about to hazard a guess that it hearkens back to Ray Harryhausen, but I rewatched the skeleton fight from Jason and the Argonauts, and I'm astounded that they apparently didn't do it there.

  • My Lemmy app put the last word of the title on a new line, which made for a fascinating misread at first.

  • "I'm Aaron Mankey, and this is Lore."

  • Why would they put it in the pricing? It looks like it's the shipper collecting the fee on behalf of the government, the seller doesn't see that money at any point.

  • Shadow Madness was an amazingly bad PS1 RPG. The details have faded with time, but I remember it was an incoherent hodgepodge of every RPG trope, every party member was a bad cliche, the random encounter system was this terrible "red light, green light" thing. It was insultingly easy, and Harv-5 was like someone's shitty Shadow the Hedgehog OC of Bender from Futurama.

I have had a grudge against this terrible game for 25 years.

  • A1 steak sauce, or HP brown sauce when the import section at my supermarket has it.

  • ...how long are your fuckin showers, man?

  • Speed Racer is a great fucking movie to watch while tripping. Everything is done in this bright, over-the-top color palette to make the live action feel like a cartoon, and the plot is easily ignorable if needed.

  • Ariel and Tiana not lookin half bad tho...
