Are any of those countless cars ones that have any sort of sport mode? Because i only experience that in cars with no modes (ie permanently in eco mode) or when in the eco modes. Which is a fair enough critique i guess, but also, theyre eco cars for a reason. Nobody cares what happens when you floor it in an eco box while its already upshifted and cruising.
Wat? Its not 1995 anymore. The computers are smart enough not to send your rpms to the moon when you arent pressing the gas. And the system may not necessarily know its raining, but it sure as hell knows more about the moment to moment traction on each wheel than even the driver does! And lets not even get into the fact that you don’t make more power that way anyway, or that your tires are hopefully not so shit or bald as fuck and at risk of fishtailing during totally normal situations.
One is also dying soon, check the meta post
The problems you describe with control is severely outdated. There are tools specifically to allow you more control outside of prompts. Ipadapters, controlnets, etc… invoke and krita support layers and all sorts of other normal artistic methods for image editing. For people who use ai image gen more seriously, prompting is just the tip of the iceberg.
For the insane amount of slop generated every day though, sure, prompting is all they use.
People at home using their gpus for a mix of gaming and local ai are not really the source of that issue
Youtube shouldn’t be baffling to you if you pay attention. Youtube still hoards tons of data and tracking on top of its ads. And paying doesn’t stop that. Also, they removed the option to pay to remove ads but skip all the other stuff. They removed that option right at the same time they started their war against ad blockers. Combine those points with the typical enshittification and we wind up with a service that doesn’t deserve your pity.
No, it was directed at you for the sake of discussion, not confusion. But your holier than thou attitude prevents you from speaking with others properly.
Its been 2 weeks and you didn’t answer the actual quesion, good job.
Maybe. Republicans don’t have this issue though, it sorta remains to be seen for dems.
With this attitude you must trust absolutely 0 politicians i guess? Where do you go from there?
Shhh. They forgot about us, let it stay that way a little longer!
I’m also on boost, it shows fine for me. I don’t even see a setting to enable censoring an individual word in comments. Just posts.
Also have asthmatic cat, all of these non-medicine steps are great tips for cleaner air and they truly do help. Some more: vacuum/wash pet furniture, pine pellet litter instead of clay, swap dryer sheets for unscented balls, don’t burn candles, keep windows shut during bad days, brush your cat to help with excess fur and dander.
Basically the goal is to reduce any and all irritants you can think of, some tips obviously are more expensive or time consuming than others. Start where you can, even the small stuff helps.
Yeah ive had 5ghz for ages as well. Use a channel scan to try and avoid my couple neighbors, Pretty decent hardware (not isp junk). House is small so max distance is only 1 wall and ~15ft.
Honestly id just guess you arent as sensitive to it. Are you the type who doesn’t notice other types of screen related feeling stuff too? Like 60fps vs 120+, input lag, or screen tearing, micro stutter, macro blocking, soap opera effect, etc.?
I’ve known plenty of people who are more or less sensitive to all the various ways things fuck up.
If you are sensitive to the other things, then who the hell knows lol.
Testing on my phone with a few different services: 0.0 to 0.2% packet loss. 9 to 12 ms jitter. Ping 5 to 25. (Edit: also this is same room but with 4k tv wireless streaming going on)
I’m not claiming to be a network expert on why wireless is noticably worse in practice, i picked out packet loss, jitter, etc randomly, i assumed that’s how it manifests. but i’d suspect these tests aren’t indicative of actual game netcode. They are short too. The whole point is the stability. If i play for 15 minutes no issue but suddenly have a single rubberband, thats an issue which may not show up in 100 tests.
On wireless i can feel that pretty much every session. Everything fine for a while, then not for a moment, then fine, etc.
On wired i only have an issue if the server itself or my isp itself is having an issue.
If you arent sensitive to jitter, packet loss, etc., and the various ways games react to it, then im happy for you.
Personally, i and many others hate it. It only takes 1 rubber band moment in a shooter to ruin a round, it only takes 1 round to lose a match. Even if you aren’t playing super sweaty, its not fun. Even my wife who only games casually noticed the difference between wireless vs wired in a few different shooters after i ran a wire to her new desk. And we do have a good setup overall.
The problem with wireless isn’t speed anymore, its stability. For a lot of applications that’s fine since buffering and whatnot hides any hiccups. but gaming for example is a nightmare on wireless still.
Its wrong in the current market, yep. But if we didnt have inflated housing from various factors including parasites and empty housing from those billionaire corps and small time landlords, things would be generally more affordable across the board like they were in the past.
With the bar for ownership lower, that rental line shifts too. And suddenly the concept of “starter homes” is back on the menu like it was only a few years ago. And maybe we could get some smaller homes being built again to meet that demand.
Last thing i wanna say is that specific rental options don’t have to be shitty. I was lucky to have snuck my early adulthood right into this mess as it formed. I saved up for my starter house (which i am now stuck in seemingly forever due to this market, but i know i am also lucky) by renting, but i rented an 1000 sqft private entry apartment with good quality. I felt plenty dignified in there. And there are options even better of course. Some people only want to rent forever afterall. Townhomes in particular are more suited for that style of renting. Nothing against that. But also, sardine packed buildings have their place. If someone is that rough off, i’d assume they prefer that to being on the streets. The issue is even those buildings have been royally fucked by today’s market. Those 500sqft apartments shouldn’t cost more than my current mortgage, but they do, and that’s insanity.
Apparently lemmy attracted all the boring bastards i guess. You all must have gray walls, a black desk, and a plain black box for a pc tower and think its peak.
I like splashes of color in various ways in my home, my pc is simply an extension of that. Theres ways do to it tastefully. Grab a Fractal case, set your fans to a solid color.
