  • Most of us drive cars to get around. This community is more a resentment of the fact we HAVE to rely on cars (depending on where you live).

In my neck of the woods public transport is a joke, and the urban sprawl means living in the city is only for the wealthy so unfortunately, I do have to rely on a car, but I hate that and I'd like to see that changed. That's why I'm part of this community.

  • Quick math

There are about 4 billion women in the world And about 4 billion men.

About 5% of men are gay, let's round that up to 10% to account for closeted gays. I'll use the same value for women.

So we've got 3.6 billion straight women vs 0.4 billion gay men.

9 times more straight women than gay men.

So a gay man would have to, on average, give a blowjob 9 times more frequently than a woman to break even.

So the question is, how often does the average woman give a blowjob? Let's go conservatively and say one a week? Some will be more, some will be less. Which means gay men will need to give a blowjob more than once a day on average, which seems unlikely.

But let's say it's far lower than what I'm thinking, if the average woman gives a blowjob once a month, gay men would need to give a blowjob every 3 days. That's certainly achievable.

I think the answer is straight women, in my experience gay men aren't as horny as people would have you believe, and women are way hornier than people would have you believe.

However, I say this as a married straight guy with a lot of women friends and a few gay friends so take this with a grain of salt

  • Yes you're 100% right. Solid wood will warp and split, I did mean MDF and should have said as such

  • Speakers are made of wood, the good ones are at least.

Unless your referring to the actual drivers, then yeah wood wouldn't really work in that case.

  • Still absolutely blows my mind people willingly install these

  • DIY

  • So interesting. I'm a programmer, I know a lot of programmers, and I'd hate to think that any of them wouldn't immediately recognise the issue.

Not sure if you're the outlier or I am.

  • Hoping discord pulls a windows and enshitifies so completely that people finally abandon it

  • I came to the same conclusion., I need a "Spotify connect" type feature, and when I looked, tidal had just axed their equivalent.

Until a competitor allows me to play music on a headless Linux box and control it with my phone, I'm stuck with Spotify

  • By the time Amazon was a thing in Australia, it was already common knowledge that Amazon treats their employees like shit, so I'm proud to say I've never used anything Amazon (except AWS at work I guess)

  • Shit, I've been with my wife for 16 years (married for 1), sparks are still strong AF. Does the timer start when you get together or when you get married?

  • My smart tv doesn't run android, it runs a proprietary Sony OS.

With my shield, I can run anything android can run like smart tube, jellyfin, Plex, emulation station, steam in home streaming etc.

This is why android tv boxes exist. Your tv is probably pretty underpowered or doesn't even run android, this solves those issues to enable you to run pretty much anything you want on your tv.

  • How do you think tariffs work?

  • I wanted to be a race car driver. Literally had no other ambitions, that's all I wanted, and I grew up being told I could be anything I wanted to be. Well we grew up homeless and I didn't realise it was something only wealthy families could afford to support.

Turns out I couldn't be anything I wanted to be.

I work in I.T. now. It's fine, pays the bils. I built myself a pretty decent sim racing rig so although it's not the same thing, it somewhat scratches the itch.

  • The chat currently is how you enter commands. But guess what... Mojang has the ability to change that. You know, like they've been changing the game for as long as the game has existed.

You litteraly have no idea how they're going to implement this change. It's stupid to assume that they're going to block the chat window without any other way to run commands. You are clearly experiencing a severe lack of critical thinking skills.

But sure, go ahead and assume the worst

  • Again, Mojang has zero control over what websites host. And the British government has zero control over what websites host in other countries.

Yes the government can try to block access to certain websites, but as you've started, a VPN is an easy way to get around that.

But also if you think Minecraft mods are high up on the government's radar, you're not really thinking clearly.

Like, think it through... If I have a website that runs on server in Switzerland, serving a Minecraft mod, how the hell would Mojang know about it? How the hell are they gonna stop me? They can't and they would be foolish to try. The British government can't shut it down, they have no jurisdiction. Any attempts to try and block the UK population from accessing it would be thwarted by a VPN.

So while I agree the age verification stuff is stupid. You're assuming it will prevent you from being able to use commands (highly unlikely), and your assuming Mojang will somehow take down websites they have no control over to prevent mods from changing this? And you're also assuming the UK governments will care enough about Minecraft mods to block access to mod websites?

You're making a lot of assumptions and literally none of them make any sense

  • I'm talking about mods that could allow running commands. Please re-read this comment chain.

Mods hosted on websites not based in the UK cannot be taken down by the UK government.

So yes, people in the UK have to abide by the age verification ( if they want social features, so you do have a choice). But people in the UK can also download and install any mod they want.

Age verification sucks, but at this point in time all we know is that it will be required for social features. Running commands, which seems to be your main concern, is not a social feature

  • The British government have no jurisdiction over websites hosted outside the UK.

  • Lmao, under what jurisdiction?

Microsoft have no power over what other websites host

  • So glad the idiotic decisions Microsoft makes doesn't effect my computer. And I'm excited for the rest of the population to make the shift to Linux, at least on their personal computers.

It doesn't have to be like this, you too can be immune
