    Democrats have actively pursued policies that would help a couple thousand a bit every time, while their base expect/imagine SocDem reforms that take a few decades to overturn instead of months. The idiot redditor.world who replied to OP proved that without realising.

    increased the minimum wage in 2009 and tried to again in 2021. That only failed because they simply didn’t have the votes. They could have gotten rid of the parliamentarian if they wanted but then it still wouldn’t have had the votes even for a simple majority so it wouldn’t have mattered.

    I’m keeping this whole to show the stupidity. They admit the parliamentarian doesn’t matter, still mention it, and cower behind not having the votes. If I’m the POTUS, elected spending over $1B and want some policy to pass, I’m gouging the eyes of any dickhead senator that’s standing in the way of my votes. This just goes to show the democrats don’t give enough of a shit about all this. Furthermore, $15 in 2028 or wherever it would’ve gone into effect is the same as $7.25 in 2009. Meaning this is the same shit 12 years later.
