  • So was I. I just did it with humor because I already know it’s normal and why I’m the way I am. I’m illustrating an idea in an attempt to maybe make it “click” for op. Because once an idea click hundreds of dominos fall into place. Many ideas click as a result. At least for me. On click leads to a network of clicks. It’s actually kind of beautiful.

It’s absolutely strange to me that you all can do that. I’m just not shocked by it anymore. I’m old. I know that I’m the different one and I know why.

Op isn’t clicking. I approached it “my way” and we’ll see how much clicks for them.

  • I feel the need to do a Texas one as a Texan

    Tex: you must be lost

Person: yes I was traveling…. Looking for… do you know

    Long silence

Tex: yep… see I knew you were probably lost. When I saw your car I told my buddy bubba over bubba tips his hat “hey bubba I think he’s lost. Probably looking for the highway.” Are ya… looking for the highway that is.

    Person: yes

Tex: ya. That’s what I figured. (Long silence but right before you say something else) you’re probably gonna want to take that road there. It’ll get you to Edna.

Person: is the highway in Edna?

Tex: no, but… you should probably go thru Edna. Less trouble that way. Then you’ll see where the old windmill used to be. Make a left”

    Person: left… to the highway?

Tex: no… but that’ll get you to fire station

Person: do I need the fire station

    Bubba laughs

Tex: bubba! No but you’re going to need their help with the tree that fell back in August . You didn’t really think you could move a tree that size with (gestures judgingly at your car. Regardless of the make or model) that… thing…

    Bubba laughs

    Tex: Bubba!

Person: uhh okay… thank you… I guess I’ll head to that fire station.

That conversation took an hour and a half but they fed you. also you have to come back next season because Mary lost her husband and you gotta do your due to help out. Then you end up just living there because after every time you help someone says “I suppose you’ll be off then won’cha. I can’t say I blame ya”

How can you leave after that?! It’s so passively judgmental!

Edit (might be adding a hat to hat here but I’m trying to reach peak texan): The good news is you can legally wear cowboy boots now and you measure a lot of thing by “heads” for quantity or “hand” for size. Plus if you ever don’t want to answer a question you can just gaze off into the distance and say “I don’t claim to know but if I’ve learned a damn thing in these dusty years is that you’ll find your answer right out there. when those answers want to find you I can’t rightly say… I’d be a damn fool to try”

  • Damn. One day I’ll meet one.

    It was a joke.

I have severe ADHD as well. Not everyone has the same symptoms. Good job on keeping your comment short and concise. I can’t do that.

Do you have trouble memorizing facial features. Can you hold eye contact? Do you know your age without doing math?

There are so many symptoms one can have with adhd. A lot of us get really frustrated if we have to focus on one thing. I need my podcasts. I’m listening to Robert Evan’s talk about Jamaican slavery while writing this.

I can’t just do one thing. That’s crazy to imagine. I love listening to nature, I just do it while doing something else. I’m able to focus on both, I have to focus on both.

  • Don’t listen to them. I have severe adhd. Like they have me in training videos back when I was a kid.

I spend all day everyday with an earbud in my ear. I don’t really like music so it’s podcasts all day everyday.

You can absolutely experience life fully like this. I walk more than anyone I know. I can point out stars in the sky and how the andromeda galaxy would look in the sky. I watch birds, I walk on the beach every night.

And other times I just let my mind wonder wherever it goes. I think about my day, the people I care about, how I can do more and better.

I do it all with an earbud in my ear. Only one, but always one.

Don’t let people tell you how to live.

  • Wow I finally meet someone without adhd.

What’s it like? I bet it’s awesome. So do you just wake up and get stuff done? It’s like being a wizard I bet.

  • Timing is everything. In bed and out.

  • Really depends on the girl. I knew a girl once who wanted the grip of my gun in her. Well she wanted the other end but I believe in always treating a gun like it’s loaded. So we settled on the grip.

Whatever you are into their is someone out there into it too.

That girl is a teacher now.

  • It’s your road to growth. If you can do it all except the sugar you are still doing better than you were before.

You can always tackle the sugar problem down the road when you’re ready to.

  • I feel like you could follow every headline about trump with “and no one knows why”

It’s practically implied at this point

  • I feel you. For the record I’m just chatting not attacking.

I’m not a tax expert but I was mostly thinking of payroll taxes. What kind of taxes are you paying while unemployed?

  • See the thing about percentages is the amount changes but the relevance to you doesn’t.

10k for a month is the amount you would expect back after the cost of police, schools, military, and every other functioning service has been taken out of the amount?

Then you’re making enough money to not be concerned about that 10,000. You’d be losing more money taking time out of your busy day to fill out the hypothetical refund paperwork.

Wouldn’t you rather been on your yacht than fighting with the government over principle? Wouldn’t you earn more discussing investment opportunities with your financial advisor?

  • A while back someone on Facebook was complaining about some funeral or something being paid for by taxes and my response was “I’ll send you your nickel if you shut up”

My point is the same here. Even if you got a 39 day refund i wouldn’t be that much. How much federal taxes are you really paying per day?

Edit: im not telling you to shut up btw. Im just saying tax is like at 10 percent right? Minus out the cost for the services that are functioning still. Like schools and police and what not… how much is left to be refunded?I’ve also gotten refunds for outages before and they are normally pretty small as well.

  • My alcoholic ass thought this was a mudslide type chocolate drink.

  • I don’t normally encourage some acts.

We have a chance to set a great precedent here.

  • “7 cannibals to be renamed to 6 cannibals after recent tragedy. When asked for comment the cannibals declined only stating that a per his wishes it will be a closed casket”

  • I understand that. And I appreciate you coming back to meet me as an adult.

What I would disagree with in this rebuttal is I wasnt making a claim. I was asking a question. Again I understand the world we live in . “Just asking questions” is a common way for people to make claims without proof.

I was annoyingly careful to show I was looking for that information. I should have explained I was looking for it in case I get asked and had to argue about it.

So I’m still very disappointed people took it as an attack when i was awkwardly tripping over myself to explain that wasn’t my intent.

I’m very upset in a way I don’t normally get online. I feel really let down by our side today.

We aren’t going to get back on the right track without acknowledging ignorance is sometimes just ignorance. I was seeking information from a story I couldn’t remember at the time. I was asking for help. I was met with anger.

I feel this is why things have become so toxic. Obviously it’s the republicans fault it turned toxic but if we plan to turn it back we have to put in the effort. Even if I was trying to trash Muslims (i honestly wasn’t) someone has to educate me. It’s no one’s obligation but it needs to be someone’s job. It sure isn’t going to be the republicans.

So I’m very disappointed in how this played out, not because of my ego but because of what it means for our cause. We have to talk to people or it won’t get better.

But what do I know. I’m not anyone special. But I’m trying. We need to try. All of us.

  • “Jokes are supposed to be funny” that’s wrong. What makes something a joke is intent. Good joke or bad joke can be argued but if the message was intended to be a joke… then it’s a joke.

Not every joke needs to be funny to you personally or funny to anyone at all besides the person making a joke.

    Buy a dictionary.

  • “Over the past decade scores of charter schools have popped up all over the U.S., all sharing some common features. Most of them are high-achieving academically, they stress math and science, and one more thing: they're founded and largely run by immigrants from Turkey who are carrying out the teachings of a Turkish Islamic cleric: Fethullah Gulen.“

I stressed it wasn’t a problem with it being Muslim. I just remembered a controversial thing that happened. They pushed a very pro turkey teaching and took children to turkey.

That was the issue I heard about. Jesus Christ yall. I was very clear I didn’t even remember if they actually did anything wrong I just asked for the information again.

Don’t eat your own. Sometimes you have to believe people when they are annoyingly clear they aren’t making an attack just asking a question.

  • I tend to agree it seems like the charter system just sucks
