  • FYI the text above is currently the entire story - so no need to click a link for more info.

Good first step. Keep in mind this is from the previous order that was ignored, not the whole Kilmar Ábrego García fiasco.

  • I've seen this line of reasoning spouted by a bunch of MAGAts.

Because yes, on the face of it should an institution with $53 billion in the bank be getting billions in taxpayer money.

BUT ... the Trump administration didn't say "we're going to end government funding to colleges and universities and we'd like to have a public debate on that."

They didn't even say "we don't think rich and powerful colleges like Harvard shouldn't be getting billions in taxpayer money so we're ending that giveaway."

No. They went the bully route and said "if Harvard doesn't follow OUR ideology and our perverse way of looking at the world, then we're going to try and hurt them."

That is tyranny. That is oppression. That is blackmail.

And anybody who isn't in a political cult can see that.

  • "Space is going to finally be glam,” Katy Perry said, bizarrely. “Let me tell you something. If I could take glam up with me, I would do that. We are going to put the ‘ass’ in astronaut.”

You have to wonder how many women they reached out to before this group was selected.

  • Now do their CEOs ...

  • then why lie about your height, weight and health?

  • Trump signing an illegal executive order?

    I don't believe it ...

  • For those of you scoring at home, you'll notice all of these universities being investigated have one thing in common.

    They're located in blue states.

  • Not only that, but he was on the other side of a flipping fence.

  • There were two telling things for me in the coverage.

First, it was always "thousands" of people at the event. Not tens of thousands like in Boston. Not something on the order of 100,000 or more in NYC (it stretched for 20 BLOCKS). All over the media "thousands" of protesters. Not "millions attend Anti-Trump rallies across US cities" like the National Post wrote.

The coverage tried to make it sound like this was 1,200 mostly insignificant protests across the country.

Second, most of the news websites weren't covering it live. And when it finally made the front page later that day or the next morning, it was 2/3/4 stories down.

Now ... compare that to what happened in South Korea. Yes, a very different ballgame, but it was halfway across the world and ALL of the news media were treating it as breaking news and halting all other coverage.

That protest had about 1 million people.

Our protests had about 5,000,000 people across the country.

It should have been covered as a much bigger deal.

  • I really hope some of the non-MAGA Republicans in the House and Senate start to realize their careers might be over if they don't do something. People aren't going to forget. And once Trump is out of the picture, they don't have anybody else with an iota of whatever qualities make people listen/like/follow/adore him.

  • "Accidentally"

This is THE argument/example for the need of due process with these round-ups.

  • MAGAt has a nice ring to it.

Do we dare go with "Trumptard"? Has a nice ring to it.

  • That's amazing! I have the same combination on my luggage!

  • GOP: These. Are. Your. Heroes.

  • At this point Trump threats are starting to sound like Russia and China.

Sad we've gotten to the point the President of the United States can say something, and the general reaction is "yeah yeah, whatever Trailer Trash Trump."

  • Lock. Them. Up.

  • Imagine that. You have unqualified amateurs in important government positions, and they don't know what they're doing.

  • His 'we'll wait until he gets to a 40% approval rating' comment speaks worlds to me.

I think the problem right now is a lot of democrats (and non-MAGA republicans) are still acting like this is business as usual. And don't fully recognize that this is an assault on democracy.

    We need leaders. Not politicians.
