  • I havent pirated a single game since i installed steam 20 years ago

There was a short period of time where netflix was good enough so i didnt pirate movies or tv shows either

    It's 100% a service problem

  • To be fair, a lot of bluetooth headphone problems i had on my work laptop was just microsoft teams.

  • if the goal is wealth distribution, we should really be going to the root of the problem.

how do these people become billionaires in the first place? wage theft, environmental destruction, corporate welfare, low corporate tax and loopholes, bailouts, poor worker protections and benefits, etc....fight these problems and legislate benefits for workers in the first place instead of trying to take the money back after the fact...

as much as i love taxing billionaires and seizing wealth, i think getting to the root of the problem is better optics and maybe more palatable to people

  • Aspirational brands

  • Thats probably where the LLMs picked up the idea. All the online jokes about nuking everyone

  • Grim fandango is the GOAT adventure game. Pls post your thoughts when you finish

  • Just a reminder, going from 6.x to 7.x does not mean there are more new features than usual. The numbering is totally arbitrary and Linus once joked about running out of fingers and toes to count

  • The tkachuk family are MAGA. i'm sure a lot of the team is as well

  • What is the solution? Am i stupid?

  • yeah, for sure the breaking of expectations is a big part of it.

but i've also seen some stuff that would be denounced by the right as "DEI woke nonsense" even by today's standards

  • I've also experienced the opposite. Watching shows/movies from the 70s and 80s and thinking, "this is woke af"

  • Still not asked to leave, but I noticed glances from staff and such so I left earlier than I would have, but on my own accord because I want to be helpful.

i didnt mean literally asked to leave, but i've had the check brought to the table without me asking, which is a pretty clear sign they want you out

Also being told at the start of the meal that there is a 90min limit until the next seating, or at the time of reservation that there is a time limit

  • Debian

But i installed pw a long time ago, so back then, they worked side by side... i guess none of the major upgrades auto removed it, so i just left it. I just assumed that if it has become a full replacement, the debian package manager would just drop it at some point

  • No, this seems to be a mostly north american problem.... i've never been rushed to GTFO in europe or asia, no matter high or low end

  • Italy as well, and i assume many other places in the world outside of north america

  • When will PW become a total replacement for pulse?

it bothers my OCD that i still have both installed and PW seems to be dependent on pulse

Edit: i'm on debian, and even though pw has replaced pulse, there are still a bunch of pulseaudio packages and programs floating around on my system

  • 7% of canadians are traitors, apparently

Since they love trump and his policies so much, we should send federal agents to round them up for treason

  • Can confirm ctrl-shift-c opens dev console

I keep mixing up the shortcuts because ctrl-shift-c is copy in the KDE terminal

  • I hope they accidentally blow up a billionaire yacht soon

  • Linux @programming.dev

Old games with high GPU requirements (and look great)

  • Canada @lemmy.ca

    We are Canadian!

  • Fediverse @lemmy.world

Anyone have stats on how the recent "voidposting" frenzy on cat communities affected lemmy?
