  • So why allow the printer to go past it!

Well yeah, me needing to lock down this network properly is why I ran up on this, but also being someone who hates reseting the stove clock after a power out, I wouldn't bat my eye at NTP requests really.

  • IDK man the noises they make may communicate to the israeli bird drones

  • I'm sorry for upsetting you so much. I don't think I said I defeated surveillance so that's on you.

  • How do you know mine isn't not 192.168.2.1 HMMM?

  • FUCK I need my own printer with blackjack and hookers

  • since OP probably isnt at risk of targeted attacks

While right, what fun is it using enterprise grade hardware if you're not at least going to pretend to be serious with it 😁

  • How much metadata do you need until its PII? What subnets exist and which devices are potentially leverageable are valid points in a threat model.. maybe not entirely suited for everyone but I'm sure as hell my employer is unknowingly greatful for

  • Haha now I feel like I overreacted. That mentioned Elegoo printer had me on edge, 100s of https requests per minute without an attached account even. Time to tidy up my services more and see if I can point them at my own ntp

  • Well shucks you inadvertantly helped me with a couple other backburner issues, thanks!

  • Call it performative, but you don't know what subnet they're on 😝

  • Huh thank you. Now its not like I already have my own NTP instance that I seemingly don't have the option on the printers for.. not sure why I didn't to look at the destination port frankly 🤷‍♂️

  • I see these comments, does your client not have a hugh res button? I think you can toggle it to always fetch the high res but its to save bandwidth

  • If this was a stress test, imagine it doing anything important.

Actually since it's doing so well, they should stress test their market value and make it CEO

  • money from google by...

I mean, in a way it has always been waiting for the other shoe to drop. Default search provider - fair enough to change - but now that ain't good enough for google, and it won't ever be

  • B-b-but when we stopped pollut- I mean geoengineering with SO2 emmissions from shipping vessels the seas got hotter, so clearly more po- geoengineering is necessary and profitable

  • While you could certainly set something up to call 911 automomously, I would personally recommend against, since now all liability for false calls lands on you.

In my instance, I use the Alarmo card, which has the option to enter a pin to disarm (and even physical keypads) , and pushes a emergency notification to all phones

  • Pardon my hopium, I do hope it's not misplaced -

Given that it was a blackmail operataion among other things, and it would be mutually assured destruction if any holder of the documents tried to redact themselves and expose others. There must be some level of proliferation of at least partial copies of beyond incriminating evidence on a larger swath of people in current power that we could possibly know now.

They wouldn't be above using it in party infighting, but there's no "faction" within the republican party with enough institutional power to get away with the backblow if they were to try to excise certain members. Which does mean there's still a clock on this, but the fact that they haven't just released with Bill and Hilary as the only two on the flight logs and dropped it, leads me to believe that this is the stalemate they're collectively in.

  • Was in your boat some time ago, only now do I feel lile I can truly recommend FreeCAD, and given how slowly more restricted fusion has become.

If you aren't already, the dev branch has sketch projection just like fusion now, complete gamechanger.

  • Clearly heavy LLM usage inhibits reading comprehension, I stated the usecase which my employer wanted to implement. Sorry normal people aren't as dogmatic as your AI friends lmao
