  • My township has been putting them on essentially every roadway entering. Some of them doubled up on the same roadway seemingly to single out those living between the two sets. Not 10 minutes south they don't even have them on freeway ramps.

  • Funnily enough, I had this issue consistently using ubuntu based distros, and bazzite/fedora fixed it. It only started when i switched from an nvidia card to AMD on my ryzen system runnung PopOS, persisted with Mint, but is yet to reoccure on either my Intel/Nvidia or AMD systems. Very strange issue, I haven't seen any definitive conlusion online

  • A step further, no doubt the company pushing this kind of detection has greater ambitions. IP protection, collecting and monitoring personally modelled parts, model licensing. I wouldn't bet on more than 2 fiscal quarters after they get some foothold legislation for them to push some more crazy bs

  • Although I do have mine exposed to the internet, I do think this is the simpliest way:

    Have an additional DNS resolver capable of overriding your outbound request to your server to loop back instead. I'm not sure what you'll need to do different if you're using a domain for your certificate, you could likely add your local IPs to your DNS return. But using domains allows you to wildcard your DNS override to catch all connections you may have using subdomains

    E: if anyone could let me know if they see this comment, it seems my instance is having issues federating

Its like that dumb 'the atomic bomb lead to hentai' but just too real, and even dumber. Like Q-anon came from there, which I wholeheartedly believe existed to push plausible deniablility be being first to accuse. Makes me want to start eating tinfoil or something and I hate it.
