    I have some peeps donate $1 a month, and it's awesome knowing they care enough about the stuff I'm working on to contribute!

  • 👋I personally find AI amoral, so I don't use it.

    Models trained on open source software, contribute nothing back to those software repos, give zero authorship to those original authors, and packaged up to sell back to us programmers.

    Not to mention the resource impact of their massive data centers.

    I don't want anything to do with it.

    And after 25 years of professional programming, this is increasingly looking like the hill I'm going to die on.

  • Roku provides us no method to know you exited the app. If you don't press stop, pause, or back out of the video player and instead simply press Home, the server will think you've watched up to the end of your buffered amount of the video.

  • Roku only offers me shuffle in shows. Is there a way I can enable it in music

    Want to shuffle play your entire music library?

    On the home screen, move the cursor over the music library and press PLAY on your remote. It'll play 2000 random songs.

    What to shuffle play all songs by an artist?

    Go to your music library and switch to one of the Artist views. Find the artist you want and press PLAY on your remote. It'll play their songs in random order.

    What to shuffle play a single album?

    Go to your music library and switch to "Albums" view. Find the album you want and press * on your remote. Choose "Shuffle Play Album"

    You can also do this with any album listed on the home screen.

    Or, in the upcoming 3.1.0 release, I've added a Shuffle Play button as part of the redesign of the album screen.

    and/or is there somewhere I could donate something small to your time to add a shuffle button to roku’s music client?
