Finally got the confirmation insurance would cover the cost of medication I've been needing for six months lmao

jesus it took so long.

I went to see a stomach specialist in NOVEMBER of 2025, and they found a SIBO and non-acidic reflux. For SIBO, they prescribed a round of antibiotics.

After that complete silence. It was late november and after that was the customary christmas break, so it wasn't until early in january that I started asking about it. I'll spare you the story but it was basically a game of telephone where I called one place, they would tell me sorry we don't know, you should try calling that other place, I called the other place, they said the same thing, and basically I was just going in circles with not one single fucking person being able to tell me why it was taking almost 6 months to get this medication.

Cost had to be approved because it's expensive medication, but it's not like there's a generic or other options available.

The kicker is because of premiums and deductibles the patient is the one that's paying for it anyway. Well in my case thanks to welfare I don't have to pay, but it's not like the insurance would be losing money on this. We pay them enough every month already.

But I finally got the email just earlier that they'd approved it so I quickly called the pharmacy for delivery. Hopefully I should get it home by tomorrow, otherwise the next day.

We'll see if it corrects the problems. I doubt it, but who knows. As a reminder if you don't know me I've been waiting on a disability claim because any physical effort basically makes me violently nauseous to the point I can't drive or walk too much and don't even try leaving the house anymore.

The best part is I've been telling my doctor for months about looking into SIBO because, guess what, deepseek of all things correctly deduced it lol (and said to go get tested to confirm). AI is getting better and better at diagnosis because at least it doesn't judge you. All it knows is the symptoms you give it, it doesn't think you're too young or too female to have problems. I will never doubt you again great deepseek lol.

If all goes well I'll get the medication tomorrow and can get started.
