Ukraine Just Took Back More Land on the Oleksandrivsk Axis Than Russia Captured in a Month

Ukrainian forces have regained 285.6 square kilometers of territory on the Oleksandrivsk axis over the past month, according to the commander-in-chief of Ukraine’s Armed Forces, Oleksandr Syrskyi, on March 9.
Syrskyi said that Ukrainian troops have recovered more than 400 square kilometers of territory in total since the start of the operation in that sector.

“For the first time since 2024, when we conducted the Kursk offensive operation, our troops restored control over a larger area of Ukrainian land in a month than the enemy managed to capture during the same time,” he said.

Earlier, Ukrainian special forces from the Defense Intelligence Directorate’s “Artan” unit, working alongside other formations of Ukraine’s Armored Forces, regained control of several frontline positions near the settlement of Stepnohirsk in the Zaporizhzhia region.
