Volgograd. Conference dedicated to the book "Stalingrad. No Statute of Limitations" and the topic of genocide in the Stalingrad region during the Great Patriotic War.

We will not be eternal,

Life will burn out like a flame,

But it remains for people

Memory of us, memory.

words by L. Luchkin

The Stalingrad Regional Committee of the Communist Party of the Russian Federation held a conference dedicated to the book "Stalingrad: No Statute of Limitations" and the genocide in the Stalingrad region during the Great Patriotic War. The event, part of the political education program, brought together party activists and the public.

Opening the conference, First Secretary of the Stalingrad Regional Committee Tamara Golovacheva emphasized the importance of the chosen topic during these February days.

"Our city is a city of glory, a city of Victory, a city of courage. But the courage and fortitude of not only soldiers but also civilians. The book 'Stalingrad: No Statute of Limitations' allows us to revisit the tragic events of the 200-day battle and fully understand the scale and horror of the fascist terror. Today, historical memory for us means returning the name Stalingrad to the city on the Volga, a name that still instills fear in the fascists who raised their heads! The facts of Ukrainian Nazi atrocities in the border regions and in the new territories of the country make Stalingrad residents even more aware of the inhumanity of fascism. And this awareness must unite all peoples to save the world and ensure the safety of future generations," Tamara Golovacheva addressed the participants.

The audience was then shown a video about the book presentation, which took place in the Triumphal Hall of the Battle of Stalingrad Panorama Museum on April 16, 2025.

Next, the secretaries of the regional party committee, Denis Uskov, Oleg Dmitriev, Andrey Shevchenko, and Artyom Grigoriev, delivered presentations. Their presentations were based on chapters from the historical publication. They recounted the atrocities of genocide in the region, the human losses, and the destruction wrought by the war. Their presentations provided the basis for a profound reflection on the tragedy and the lessons of history.

At the conclusion of the conference, participants watched a fragment of the documentary "Fascism" from the Red Line television channel. The horrific images of mutilated destinies and broken lives evoke profound sorrow and awaken in people the realization that only memory—the living, unfading memory of those who suffered, of those who fought—is the foundation of victory over the fascist evil.
