Llegan desde Europa nueva instalación de energía fotovoltaica para el Instituto Finlay de Vacunas de La Habana

The NGO Medicuba-Europe details to Cubainformación about the arrival in Havana of a container with supplies destined for the expansion of the photovoltaic energy system at the Finlay Institute of Vaccines (IFV).
This is a new 173 kWp solar installation that will be placed on the roof of the industrial building where the Soberana COVID-19 vaccine was produced. This project, part of the "Energy for Life" program, is being carried out in collaboration with the Cuban Society for the Promotion of Renewable Energy Sources and Environmental Respect (CubaSolar) and the Swiss NGO AMCA (Medical Aid for Central America).
The first stage of the system, with a capacity of 123 kWp, is already operational and has generated 35.5 MWh in its first three months. With this second phase, which will begin operating in May, the total capacity will reach 300 kWp, with an estimated monthly production of 30 MWh. This will cover approximately 10% of the energy consumption of the prestigious Cuban scientific center, renowned for its COVID-19 vaccine development.
