Boycott Hilton and Marriott Residence Inn for enabling ICE

The Issue

We call on Hilton and Marriott Residence Inn to immediately end all relationships that allow Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) to stay, organize, or operate out of their hotels.

Hotels should be places of safety and rest—not staging grounds for immigration enforcement that terrorizes neighborhoods and tears families apart. By housing ICE agents, these corporations are contributing to fear, surveillance, and the detention of thousands of people, including parents, workers, and community members.

Just recently, the Hilton on 701 W Ocean Blvd, Long Beach, CA 90831, the very same hotel where border patrol is staying, hosted a toy drive organized for a non-profit that benefits local marginalized families. One of the families that received the invitation happened to be a family whose father was kidnapped in a brutal raid by the very same agency that is staying at this hotel. We do not believe that the Hilton was transparent with the risk of hosting events for marginalized communities at their hotel.

When ICE is embedded in residential hotel spaces, entire neighborhoods are destabilized. Families are forced to live in constant fear, children are traumatized, and communities lose their sense of safety. School enrollment is at an all-time low due to the precense of ICE in our communities. Hilton and Marriott Residence Inn are not neutral actors in this harm—they profit while families suffer.

This is not hospitality. This is complicity.

Our Demands We demand that Hilton and Marriott Residence Inn:

        End all contracts and arrangements that allow ICE or related agencies to use their hotels
    Adopt a clear, public non-cooperation policy with immigration enforcement
    Provide transparency about past and current relationships with ICE
    Commit to keeping hotel properties safe for guests and surrounding communities
     
    CALL TO ACTION 
    Until these demands are met, we call for a nationwide boycott of all Hilton and Marriott Residence Inn properties. We urge travelers, organizations, unions, and cities to refuse business with companies that enable harm to our communities.


  

Our neighborhoods are not staging grounds. Our families are not collateral damage.

Exigimos que Hilton y Marriott Residence Inn pongan fin de inmediato a toda relación que permita a Inmigración y Control de Aduanas (ICE) alojarse, organizarse u operar desde sus hoteles. Los hoteles deben ser espacios de seguridad y descanso, no bases de operaciones para la aplicación de leyes migratorias que aterrorizan vecindarios y destruyen familias.

Al hospedar a agentes de ICE, estas corporaciones contribuyen al miedo, la vigilancia y la detención de miles de personas, incluyendo madres y padres, trabajadores y miembros de la comunidad.

Recientemente, el Hilton ubicado en 701 W Ocean Blvd, Long Beach, CA 90831, el mismo hotel donde se encuentra hospedada la patrulla fronteriza, fue sede de una colecta de juguetes organizada para una organización sin fines de lucro que apoya a familias locales marginadas. Una de las familias invitadas resultó ser una familia cuyo padre fue secuestrado en una redada brutal por la misma agencia que actualmente se hospeda en ese hotel. No creemos que Hilton haya sido transparente sobre el riesgo que implica albergar eventos dirigidos a comunidades marginadas mientras permite la presencia de ICE en sus instalaciones.

Cuando ICE se integra en espacios hoteleros residenciales, vecindarios enteros se desestabilizan. Las familias se ven obligadas a vivir con miedo constante, las infancias son traumatizadas y las comunidades pierden su sentido de seguridad.

Hilton y Marriott Residence Inn no son actores neutrales en este daño: obtienen ganancias mientras las familias sufren.

Esto no es hospitalidad. Esto es complicidad.

Exigimos que Hilton y Marriott Residence Inn

        Pongan fin a todos los contratos y acuerdos que permitan a ICE u otras agencias relacionadas utilizar sus hoteles
     Adopten una política clara y pública de no cooperación con la aplicación de leyes migratorias
     Brinden transparencia sobre relaciones pasadas y actuales con ICE
    Se comprometan a mantener sus propiedades seguras para las personas hospedadas y para las comunidades aledañas

Hasta que estas demandas sean cumplidas, llamamos a un boicot nacional de todas las propiedades de Hilton y Marriott Residence Inn. Instamos a personas viajeras, organizaciones, sindicatos y ciudades a rechazar hacer negocios con empresas que facilitan el daño a nuestras comunidades.

Nuestros vecindarios no son bases de operación.

Nuestras familias no son daños colaterales.
