Furries are gross
Furries are gross
They fall into this really bothersome venn diagram of three different demographics that cannot consent nor condone.
- Animals
- Cartoons
- The children that cartoons are traditionally aimed at
And I know, not all furries are about sexuality or fetishism. But it cannot be denied that the vast majority of furry content that you stumble into online is yiff. Like, by far.
Every community has gross people, sex pests, and full-on predators. A community that explicitly uses images that appeal to children gives predators an open buffet. Using innocent cartoons and animals to enable this is, at the very least, problematic and I'm tired of the internet pretending it's not. So even if many individual furries aren't targeting children, much like Joe Camel on cigarette ads, children will see something more innocent then stumble blindly into things that can be harmful to them.
I'm also staunchly pro-trans and having the freedom to choose your identity. Hell, I'm pro all lgbtq+. Trans people do not use imagery that was specifically created in the first place to appeal to children. You can be whoever you want, even an anthropomorphic cartoon. But be aware of the consequences of your actions. And be aware of the worst of humanity and how they will use your innocence to their advantage.
Drawing comparisons between being furry and being trans hurts the trans community. It gives right wing nut jobs more ammunition to claim that trans people target kids.
Cause look, y'all look like you're targeting kids. No amount of explaining will change that.
