Anti-Bolsheviks dismiss overwhelming evidence that neofascism is a serious problem in Ukraine
That is a terrible analogy. The situation with Ukrainian neofascists is not like when the corporate media constantly smeared the entire Labour Party as antisemitic based on a couple of posts from unimportant members. It’s more like when Washington hired thousands of former Axis personnel and collaborators to help the Western bourgeoisie with the Cold War. The neofascists in Ukraine aren’t limited to a handful of unimportant soldiers. They influence the Ukrainian government.
I may as well repeat what I wrote nine months ago, as it is convenient for this:
What I find upsetting is how so many people can dismiss the antisemites in the Ukrainian military and other institutions with half-baked excuses like ‘it’s okay because the neo-Nazis are all gone now’ (which they aren’t), ‘it’s okay because they have a Jewish president’ (who isn’t fixing the problem), and ‘it’s okay because Russia’s got neo-Nazis too’ (which is irrelevant; they aren’t the ones benefitting from our tax dollars). I know that it doesn’t bother neoclassical liberals to keep beating their war drums, but that they can gloss over Ukrainian antisemitism as a nonissue and an open and shut case… just astonishes me.
I am just in shock right now. How the fuck can anti-Bolsheviks deal with this serious accusation by glancing at the situation for two seconds and deciding that everything is fine…? Is it because they’d sleep worse at night if they didn’t?
Also, I highlighted ‘Want democrats to look stupid? Interview 100 people and only show the small handful of them that said dumb shit’ because limiting one’s exposure to dozens of soundbites is exactly what anti-Bolsheviks do. If they didn’t, we’d see a lot more posts about this subcommunity in MeanwhileOnTheGrad now wouldn’t we?
I’m still in shock seeing this facetious apathy. I should just stay off of the Internet for a while.
