The Washington Post reports that Israel is barring U.S. and foreign surgeons from entering Gaza even as more than 40,000 Palestinians live with catastrophic war injuries and the enclave’s health system collapses.
Doctors who previously treated mass-casualty cases — and testified publicly about Israeli strikes — were denied entry without explanation.
A UN commission has already said Israel’s actions in Gaza amount to genocide, and with journalists barred from the territory, international medical teams remain the primary witnesses to widespread destruction and the more than 70,000 killed, most of them women and children.
Despite this, Israel continues to block specialists needed for life-saving surgeries and rehabilitation.
