National Audubon Society on Instagram: "This week we’re highlighting photographer, cinematographer, and Audubon Photography Awards Honorable Mention awardee Nathan Clark (@nathanclarkwildlife) and his incredible videos of a Great Gray Owl family that he studied for years. In this clip, you’ll see the adults engaged in a courtship ritual. Before nesting, the male and female owls spent several weeks courting and selecting their nesting site for the year. They may use the same nesting site for several years or choose a new spot. During this time, the pair spend a lot of time preening each other and strengthening their bond, often vocalizing."
