"Stupid Owl"

The other day while photographing at this owl roost, a passerby asked in a nasty tone "how many photos do you need of that stupid owl"?

On my way home knowing I had probably just made my best screech images and praying to the God of sharp focus I thought this is why we go back time and time again and photograph the same species often for hundreds or even thousands of frames. The idea that the next one maybe just a little better, a little sharper or in a more intriguing pose or location. This is what motivates me and the thought of sharing nature in a way that many will never see.

So here is by far my favorite screech owl shot out of its roost hole. And yes I will be there again tonight taking more photos of that "stupid owl" because just maybe there is one better than this image waiting for me.
