Inverness Cameron Barracks asylum seeker plan highlights need for urgent reform, says Scottish Refugee Council as backlash continues

A complex issue being dealt with by the UK government with a hammer, whomever would have guessed? Hotel usage undoubtedly not the best solution, but really, a barracks? One step less than a concentration camp really

Anyway, the BBC and STV stories were both really poor on this debate. So here's a local take in the Inverness Courier, they have some other stories on it too. Highland council is an interesting place, with many independents. This is likely to rumble on for some time.

And our housing crisis however continues, with every single council in Scotland having a stupidly long waiting list for a council property. The answer to both lies with HMG. Massive property expansion for council housing, like we had in the 60s, will see demand answered. Can we build better this time? Have we learned to avoid ghettos? Can high-rises ever be good? Will schools and corner shops and service industry be added too?

Will Rachel Reeves pull the finger out for capex spending? Will climate change be acknowledged as a large reason for migration already?
