Mazda’s battery-powered efforts thus far have been, well, more than a bit disappointing. The now-departed MX-30 EV was a stylish compliance car, with barely enough range for the average American commute in cold weather. Meanwhile, the only hybrid in the Mazda lineup is currently the CX-90 PHEV, which we’ve learned isn’t nearly as compelling as the turbocharged inline-six edition.
