Why did Iran try to help the US in Afghanistan? Considering their whole mantra is US is Evil? And we did not take it? Wouldn't that have been a very very helpful ally?

In 98 taliban killed 11 iranian diplomats. The west and especially the usa always backab other countries and leadership

  Yeah. Afghanistan under the Taliban was near being a pariah nation.
