I saw that claim on r/Socialism the other day and it made me left that community, again. It seems to me that some people, despite becoming marxists, didn’t interiorize the investigation that they have done in order to reach the truth. Thus when a new question rises, their reaction might end up being not too different from that of a liberal (e.g. jumping to conclusions, relying on vibes rather than materialism), just ‘rooting’ for a different team.
I like this article, it gives a lot of useful context.
I saw it on hex the other day and went searching. Someone corrected op but by then it was almost 300 upvotes. Overcredulity makes us reactionary and we either get serious, vigilant, and diligent or we’re not only buffoons but a disservice to the cause. “Ask” communities are here for reasons.
r/Socialism is not taken by the ACP, r/AskSocialists is.
I only saw people in r/Socialism who hate the ACP, and even the moderators removed all ACP affiliated subreddits from the recommended list. Instead of linking r/AskSocialists they link r/Socialism_101 and r/AskCommunists now. Still, people in there can go from ML to basically libs.
