Obviously the insane suffering of Palestine and Lebanon at the hands of Israel should be at the center of all of this conversation
However I do find myself additionally sympathetic and fascinated by how maddeningly bewildering it must be to be a non practicing Jewish person that’s never been a Zionist and lives in like Chicago or Miami. Especially if they have a special interest in history.
I had a Jewish professor like that in college who was a Holocaust scholar and contributed to a number of museums on the matter but she was primarily an expert in the history of American sport and how memory and history shape one another. And she sure as shit wasn’t a Zionist
Hope you’re doing well Dr. Lewis
Is it really “antisemitism” when people criticize state-sponsored genocide?
For decades, Israeli governments have cried “Antisemitism!” whenever someone criticised them.
Womp womp
The word as lost all meaning for me with how Israel and a good chunk of its people and Jewish people toss it around like “get out of jail” card.
Call me an antisemite all you want, I don’t care anymore. doesn’t mean anything to me. it’s an empty word.
