The tiny text above the map explains the map. It’s the temperature anomaly, so how much warmer June 21st 2026 was than some ‘normal’ level, with the normal level presumably based on historical June 21sts or historical June days at each point of the map.
I saw it, it just was a little confusing to see what the data was trying to represent. Anomaly makes it seem like the temperature itself was the anomaly. It would make more sense to just say Temperature Variance to me.
“Temperature variance” sounds like a variant of temperature variation, which typically refers to a difference between lowest and highest temperature.
