Wikipedia says that Charlie is a unisex name. I don’t know about it, as English is not my first language; and I still prefer your variant, as Charlotte sounds way cooler 🥰

I’ve known trans people with unisex names who still changed their names because they associated their dead name with their past. I don’t know how common that is, but I can understand wanting a fresh, new name to go along with one’s fresh, new life.

That’s why I chose Alice: a name that has nothing to do with my old name, with my family or stuff like that! I couldn’t just pick the feminine version of my old name!
