    The incident is highly unusual for a modern aircraft type and particularly noteworthy given the aircraft’s young age. The Boeing 787-9 involved has been in Lufthansa service for less than six months.

    Is it also unusual considering that it’s a Boeing?

      It’s been a minute since Boeings stopped failing spectacularly, so it’s a mild surprise, but for a new plane’s landing gear to collapse while parked, it reeks of manufacturing defect and QC failure…

      Thankfully it failed when parked, things could have turned out much, much worse if it had been later during landing…

    So, this is what it’s called when they kiss the ground. I always thought they were just happy to be on the ground again.
