This “jungle primary” thing seems like a hot mess.

Also I read that Republicans are only one quarter of registered voters in California. Yet the top candidates for governor so far are both Republican? WTF??

Ranked choice voting is what we need

Agreed. But the jungle primary seems like it could be a baby step in that direction.

Factually is an AI-powered research tool. It searches the web for users’ queries and provides a balanced, neutral overview of existing coverage, analysing different angles and perspectives.

Calling an AI slop site “factually” is peak 2026

lol. I didn’t even realize it was AI slop. I had read the stat in a Vox piece and was looking for a similar citation. My apologies.

Looks like that stat is true, so no shade on you pointing it out. Just found the source funny.

Most assuredly not. As of this writing, one Republican has the largest single vote share, but all republicans combined have less than 39%. About eight democrats are splitting 61%.

17% are “independent”, which is most of the time what republicans who realize it keeps them from getting laid calls themselves.
