Okay. I didn’t mean chaos, I meant anarchy. But it would also create chaos, probably.

I fail to see how a sporting event, no matter how conducted, could bring about a community run by volunteer cooperation, but perhaps that’s a failure of imagination on my part.

I think you’re going by a single definition of anarchy that you’re applying incorrectly in this case. You’ve tried to be a Besserwisser here, I’m guessing?

No, I’m trying to dispel the propaganda that anarchism results in chaos and disorder, “definitions” that were tacked on to discredit the movement.

Words take on different meanings than their initial intentions sometimes. That’s language for you. Nothing to “dispel”.

You’ve completely missed my point, those “definitions” are themselves propaganda. The etymology of the word has nothing to do with disorder, governments in the late 19th and early 20th centuries spread fear of anarchism by conflating it’s meaning, to discredit the movement and scare away possible new members by associating them with violence and chaos. It’s been very effective, judging by this conversation, but it’s founded on lies.

I understand all that, but it doesn’t change the fact that it’s too late, and I’m using a now-established meaning of the word. I’m sorry this isn’t something you want.
