Cars for sport should be registered and the rest banned. I bet the VIN is filed off. Was it automatic? Where were the good guys with cars? Was this a downloaded car? This is what happens when your kids play racing games all the time.
So you want to erase the entire transport sector?
What about people living out in the country miles and miles from the nearest store/school/place of work?
Should they not be allowed to get groceries, take their kids to school, or get to work?
They can horse and buggy since they want to cosplay farmers.
If they want to live far from everybody else with no way to support that lifestyle, why is that anybody’s responsibility but their own?
They are allowed to get groceries and take their kids to school and go to work; nobody is preventing them. They are allowed to make these things impossible for themselves and suffer the consequences of that.
Though their children are also allowed to stay at the place that does have food and friends and stuff to do, and parents aren’t allowed to force them to come with them.
Well, your changes will lead to increased over population in cities, driving up rents and housing prices.
Why pay rent? It’s not like people are allowed to force you not to live somewhere that they don’t live.
Housing is a matter of building stuff where people are willing to help you build it. Personally I would like my city to have plenty of high quality housing (rather than slums) so I would like to treat builders and manufacturers make high quality housing at scale warmly and make sure they have everything they need to thrive and build.
If there aren’t enough materials, new materials are all spoken for, and everybody who wants to go off to get them has done so, then the people of the city can decide between squalor and finding a way to fairly send people to get more. They might decide on a lottery where the losers have to go out and collect resources, or if there are a lot of unpleasant jobs they might be assigned through a communal duty roster.
And if people don’t want to do more work, that’s the maximum prosperity possible.
